On the back lower driver's side of the engine block, best accessed from the underside of the vehicle. A quarter dollar sized hole should be visible that looks just like the female version of the male shaped heating element. I would've thought a small pamphlet was included to assist, but who knows. Don't forget the heat transfering paste that should also be included.

Funny how this is way too similar to the talk sometimes awkwardly given to pubescent offspring.

Some access can be had through the drivers side wheel well.

I got it installed, is it ok to leave these operating all night every night, or is a timer recommended?

They're about 400W, so if you're willing to pay for the electricity, I can't envision that there's any harm that could come of it. We leave our medium duty commercial vehicles plugged in for weeks at a time without running them, but they're frost plug heaters. If you have a timer, I would say an hour or two should do the trick.

I don't really drive that much, so I just dash out an hour or two before I think I need to go somewhere and plug mine in.

Finally got my Falcons so going to assemble them. So bringing up a little bit of an old post.

On my truck the bottom pig tails on both sides of the truck point to the drivers side and not the rear.
The fella that posted a little bit after you shows his coils and his pigtails appear both to point at the drivers side as well and not the rear.

Every Tundra that I've ever work on has the coil end facing rearward from the factory. Yes it is possible to get them switch from left to right.

Interesting. I watched the Falcon install video and it is hard to tell and they only do the driver’s side but looks like their pigtail faces to the drivers side as well.

Does the pigtail orientation really matter?

That's the million dollar question. As a tech you put it back exactly as you found it. It's also a way to make sure the left and right sides don't get mixed up. The front springs have a different spring rate because of more weight on the left side (driver and fuel tank).

So the owners who have commented that their trucks lean, should check their pigtails?:angrygirl:

How hard is it to access the 2019 Tundra blend door actuator? Does the whole dash have to com apart and can you access it to the right of the steering wheel near the gas pedal?

I believe the dash has to come out. What's wrong with the blend door?

Heat and air works perfectly, but when I change the selectors, there is an audible loud, moan or whine. I have had it happening for a year. I took it in when I was under warranty and they said the if it got worse to bring it back. If it was out of warranty and that happened the it was documented so they would cover it. It has gotten worse (does it more often) and I have an appointment next week. I'm just worried if they have to tear into the dash, it will never be the same and will rattle! Lol.

The dash comes out fairly easily. I'm sure it will go in find. I've never done one personally on a Tundra but a buddy tech of mine does them and its about a days work. He had to do a few leaking AC evaporators.

Since this just makes an annoying sound, that doesn't mean it is going to out out and make me lose heat and/or air? If it is just noisy, I can live with it if that doesn't mean it is going bad. My heat and air work just fine. What are the odds?

Toyota is paying for it so I would let them do it. I pretty sure they service the whole air box, just not the actuator door. If it fails it's going to be a huge bill. Why risk it? Even if it doesn't fail before you sell it, it's going to effect your resale value. Would you by a truck that made a noise in the heater box?

Yes. Service manager verified they would cover the repairs today even though I am out of warranty because I had it documented. He also made me feel better by saying that they have done this several times and I won't even notice they had the dash out. Said it will take three days once all approvals have gone through and they get the part in. And they are going to put me in a loaner. So, I'm happy. Thanks for the advice!

Do you have a link to this^^. I’ve been noticing the extended cranks on my 2020 and then after the restart it’s fine...thanks.

Sorry there's no link. Just what I noticed in the shop. You should still be under warranty?

I am going in for the side marker recall and my first free oil change next month. I was going to let them know about the long cranking. Fortunately I am at 5k miles. Thanks anyway...

I remember one coming into the shop a few times for the extended crank. It was found after "T"ing in a fuel pressure gauge and watching how long it took the fuel pressure to bleed off. It didn't meet the spec so the pump was replaced and the problem was gone. The anti drain back valve was the issue and is part of the pump assembly.

Anyone know what that trim piece immediately behind the windshield is called? Mine is rattling some after having a part replaced for my HVAC system; and I'd like to know if it's just easier for me to pull it out myself and put some dampening material in there.

I wouldn't mess with it. Your under warranty. If you play with it and can't repair it yourself they may deny you warranty and blame you as the cause.

This x1000. As long as my truck is in warranty ('til May 2028 or 120k miles), I will use the dealer to diagnose and repair any issues I have. I am also being careful to ensure that I can easily remove my mods from the system so they are not used as an excuse to not cover an issue under warranty.

Good point; I’ll make an appointment to have them look at it and state this in case I get any pushback.

Well, I do know my dealership isn’t that bad. I’ve got a custom sound system; and yet they could have cared less about that when they replaced the HVAC damper or whatever it was.

    But still - good point.

And remember that warranty coverage for, say, a suspension issue will not be affected in any way by a custom sound system. The example I was thinking of for my truck is my FRAC harness front camera setup. If my head unit starts having major issues, I will remove that harness and put everything back to stock before I take it in for a warranty evaluation.
