    Hi All,

I’ve had 6112s at the 1.9” setting on ‘15 Tundra for almost 50K miles. Great coilovers and love how they ride. However, they don’t offer a threaded shock body for spanner wrench adjustability and I believe they come with only a 600# spring.

I’m considering having a local fab shop make a relatively heavier front winch bumper and adding a winch. To help support the added weight, I’m thinking of going with adjustable coilovers with a 2.5” shock diameter and 700# springs.

I’ve ran Bilstein adjustables before on other vehicles, and always liked the ability to crank them up or down using a spanner wrench on the collar ring, which was on the bottom of the shock body, not on top, but that was years ago. At first I was thinking Fox, King, Elkas, etc. But a few have noted difficulty in threading the collar ring while on the truck. The consensus serms like you need to remove the coilover completely and use a spring compressor to thread the collar ring.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/adjusting-king-front-coil-overs-for-tundra-lean.21143/

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/need-help-adjusting-coilover-ride-height.38360/

While I’ve done my share of coilover installs in mine and others’ driveways over the past two decades, I’d rather leave them on the truck and crank away like I’ve done with past adjustables.

I’ve read a few posts claiming Fox 2.0 and Toytecs (Boss?) are easy to adjust (also looks like the collar ring is on the bottom on those), but I’m looking for the same with 2.5” body shocks and 700# springs. Is there such a thing?

I have adjusted kings and icons while on my rigs. My icons run 700lbs and while they are considered the easiest to adjust while on the truck, the 700s make it very difficult. Just get the correct sized punch as well as the usual CO wrench and you can adjust any of them while installed.

on my 19 I have a heavy C4 bumper with hoops, winch, full set of skids and sliders. I am running kings with the stock 600lb spring and no issues. And a 1000lb camper sits in the bed 90% of the time too.

Thanks for the reply, Pickledpigsfeet. Good to know the Icons seem easier to know. Something to consider when I choose which ones to go with.

How much does your C4 fab bumper weigh? Have you had to crank the collar a bit more with the stock 600# coils?

While doing more research, I found the Ironman 4x4 coilovers with the bottom collar ring. Found one thread on these and they look like another promising option. Wondering if the bottom collar ring makes it easier to adjust?

600# coils on a Tundra? 600lb Fox springs were too light for my Tacoma & that motor is significantly lighter than the 5.7. My current OME springs are 740lbs. & it has a nice ride. I can't imagine 600lb springs on a Tundra.

I could be wrong, but I believe the stock springs are 650#. Either way, with a heavier bumper and winch, I’m considering heavier rated springs just in case. I’d like the ability to adjust up and down to my liking, though.

Good to know. I take it yours are the 2.5 body shocks?

I have king 2.5s in front with 700lb springs, I've adjusted them on the truck probably 3 times and it was super easy. my kings came with 600lb springs but when I got my bumper, winch, and lights, it was too much for the 600s
