    Hey Ya'll,

My name is Kolt. I transfered in from TacomaWorld when I sold my Overland Tacoma in order to by my first Tundra.

When I was working on my Tacoma, I spent a lot of time, money & effort trying to build a great overland rig but then we had our daughter and life changed. I drove a killer Overland rig as though it was a mall crawler for 3 years. I've decided to start of strong with the Magnuson supercharger and Rock Warrior wheels then go a bit slow from there. Unfortunately, to this date Magnuson hasn't released the programming for a 2020 Tundra.

I have bought the truck but am just waiting for the dealer to receive & install the supercharger.
Once I receive the truck I will get the TPM sensors switched over to the Rock Warrior wheels and get them put on.

I was under the impression that the BullyDog Tuner was wasn't available for our newer Tundras?

I appreciate the tip. I just spoke with the parts/installer supervisor who called Magnuson's production manager. Magnuson did acknowledge that the Bully Dog tuner is not ready for the '19-'20 Tundra because they changed ignition systems; I think he said they switched from a G-key to an H-key. Magnuson gave a 'verbal guarantee' :annoyed: that they would have the programming finished & ready for install in the first quarter of 2020.
Due to the misrepresentation, the dealer did agree to do a couple extra small services:
Free install on the wireless center console charger (00016-34506)
Free swap-out of the TPM sensors, mount & balance of my Rock Warrior wheels.

I agree! I NEED it too. Sorry to get your Hope's up haha.
It is rolled into the load and ordered. Supposedly, the dealer supervisor has worked with and installed plenty of superchargers from Magnuson so he is just waiting for a call from Magnuson saying it is programmed & ready to ship.
I'm pretty bummed but just trying looking at is like a fully refundable kickstarter project... when it gets completed I get a kickass supercharger; if it never gets done I get my $8k back.

It's definitely hard buying a truck when your wife is 39.5 weeks pregnant and also has a debilitating illness. Our local dealer actually sent one of their salesmen to our house to finalize the documentation & downpayment as well as deliver the truck to our doorstep.
I plan on taking more pictures of the truck tomorrow but I was able to snap one picture before I had to go take care of a toddler & sick wife.

The supercharger is ordered but, again, we are waiting on Magnuson to finish the programming the tuner for the new system.
We paid for bedliner to be added just waiting to set up a date that works.
I've ordered the wireless charging center console (00016-34506; backordered).
I am also considering adding the driver side A-pillar grip (62220-0C050-B0 & 74610-0C082-B0) & wireless tailgate lock (PK3B6-34JS0).

Well every bit of progress has been postponed due to the fact that our baby boy was born 3 days ago.
At this point, we are just relaxing at the house trying to get enough rest. I'm taking this time to look into de-chroming the truck.
Can anyone tell me what type of grease/lubricant is used on the inside of the door handles? I could be wrong but it seems like some sort of silicone gel grease.

I removed the chrome inserts to de-chrome the truck. I started with an attempt to wrap them but ended up doing 5 coats of Plastidip. The insert had too many curves and fold-under angles which left a good amount of excess on the underside.
I'm a little nervous to stick them on as the 3m trim tape does push the insert out a bit more than I had hoped. Although it does still have the added depth of plastic tape backing.

So I'm a little excited to be doing some stuff but the build is a little lackluster compared to how it was supposed to be - supercharged right off the lot - but I'm making some progress on more basic items.

A couple of days ago I placed an order with AJT for the center console items and vent rings. I plan on order the climate & 4x4 knobs if they work for the 2020.

I have been considering doing the blackout PRO headlights but I may have to wait a little while for that.

I did just drop the truck off at the dealer today to have these done:
OEM TPM sensors switched into the Rock Warrior wheels

I ended up using Permatex white lithium grease but it definitely was not the same consistency. It'll do :notsure:
The rear handles are the same standard handles that are use on every other Tundra; one bolt on the edge door holding the small rear piece on, slide the handle back to release.
As for the front handles, I removed the rear piece and left the main body in place while using trim pry tools to pry the plastic away while scraping the double sided tape. That way I could avoid removing the interior door panel.
Sorry I couldn't be of better help on that.

The black looks good over the chrome. I'm still on the fence on de-badge or black out. Thinking of clear wrapping the front don't know if anyone else has done that.

    Thank you.
I debadged my Tacoma when I had it and added some decals. I liked it enough but for some reason I wanted to keep the badges on the Tundra but get rid of the chrome.
I am working on blacking out the interior as well.
I'll try to remember to take some pictures when I get the truck back from the dealer.

Yeah I'd like to see them. How are you going to black out the interior?

On the front handles is it possible to remove just the chrome inlay part of the handle?

The SR5 models come with Black trim components vs the higher models which come with silver and chrome components. I had my dealer order the SR5 steering wheel and radio bezels.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/black-oem-interior-trim.10946/
    [IMG]

I ordered the AJT shift and cup holder rings as well as the vent rings (which are basically just stick on). Hopefully AJT will come out with climate knobs for the newer model soon so I can replace those.
I can't do anything about the chrome seat labels but I do plan on replacing the center console badge with these saying "PLATINUM":
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/trd-center-console.14621/
    [IMG]

This is exactly what I did for the front handles. I didn't want to remove the door panels so I just used trim pry tools to scrape the tape, removing the chrome trim from the color matched body. The picture is still of the back handle but it exemplifies what I did. I used "goof off" (a citrus based cleaner) and a plastic scraper to get most of the tape off then finished by cleaning the residue with an alcohol wipe.
    20191209_155831.jpg
    20191209_160703.jpg

One thing to be aware of when removing these is that the tape does 99% of the work holding them on but there is one small clip attached to the body. When removing the inserts, 3 of the 4 clips broke so I just broke the last one off anyways.

Thanks for the great pics that explains a lot! What did you use to refasten after you painted the chrome? Thanks again!

It’s all good bud. I’ll probably use the same.

Yeah I’m gonna have to pull the panels. I opted to color match so that will be fun.

I may do the same later but I can't justify the price with my wife at the moment - I've done plenty of other things for now - so I did the simple budget handle route for now.

Yeah. Looks ultimately like we have the same ideas just different routes. Your current mods are gonna be on my to do list.

I would love to buy the color match but man they are pricey. I liked to price match the part but Roman does not have the part # listed for the Sequoia handles.

I was also planning on asking my dealer for that part number as well... actually I did ask but they didn't respond to that part of the email.
If I do end up getting it, I will share it.

Ok f I remember right, Roman state’s the tundra doesn’t have color match crew max for 2020 so you have you use the sequoia handles and there was only 3 colors to choose from.

Correct but he doesn't actually mention the part number that is used from the Sequoia. Without the part number, it's hard to compare pricing.

I stopped by the dealership today to drop something off and got this picture of the Sequoia front handle part numbers. He said there were three part numbers all stating that they were Super White. One says Super White but the trim package that it is labeled for, Limited, typically comes with chrome.
I'll research it some more but he did say the MSRP was over $200 each which makes Roman's offer a good deal.
