Mine just under $200, and I was out of town for work when it happened, Mrs used, she came out and saw it, she was scared to tell me, it happened late afternoon/evening so she couldn't get it done quickly, then after it was installed, few months go by and bottom of window came undone from where it's held at on two points, had to go to specialty auto window shop for the glue n primer and plastic clips that window sits in, did myself, still holding up

Somebody busted into my wife's rav4 last year... Cost like $200 done deal. A tundra glass prolly a lil more coin but look into 3rd party (safelite etc) they'll come to you and get it done pretty quick and cheaper than a dealer.... If your deductible is low insurance should cover it... But I had a $500 deductible so it wasn't worth making the claim

deductible through my insurance is 500, so far looks like it might not be worth it to make the claim...

Sorry about the window. But, also curious as to what this means? Not bright? Not directed properly? The phrase “weird light output” has me confused. They look kinda cool, and different from every other Tundra. But you seem to not recommend, just not sure why.

yea they look neat, but take a peek at this thread https://www.tundras.com/threads/installed-the-alpha-owls.49155/ my output is somewhat better than the OP's lights in that post but not by much. also quite a few quirks with the leveling, just not worth the $600 price

You should double check that. Most policies that have glass coverage have a zero deductible for glass only claims.

PS sorry about your truck. I’d be so pissed.

Always some low life POS who wants what others have worked so hard for. Karma is a wonderful thing and that individual will ALWAYS be just that - a “low life POS”!

Sorry bro!! I hate this shit...
Mine was 'broke' into earlier this week. I was an inadvertent dumb-ass and somehow left mine unlocked, so luckily no windows were broke. Nonetheless, the rage of knowing some had touched my shit was palpable!

I hope the video helps catch them.

Might I suggest...if found, don't press charges. Just get their name, find them and...

Most glass claims aren't worth it with a $500 deductible. That's what I have on my policy. Now, it might be a different story if it was due to a theft (or attempted theft). I'd check with your insurance. The only time I didn't ever have to pay for glass repair was when I lived in FL years ago. Any windshield that needed to be replaced was done by the insurance company for free. It was a state mandated program. Any other time? $$$

anyone reading these broken into threads needs to call their insurance company and ensure you have glass coverage. I've carried that for years and it may be a 13 dollar a year difference at best.

0 deductible glass is the way to go. I once did back to back windshields due to a road being milled. day 1 took a hit, dropped off picked up next day and took a hit again further down that road. 2 windshields in one week 0 out of pocket.

OEM glass is also an option, you dont have to settle, however I did end up with a pilkins windshield that was sound proof and was a nice upgrade. you can typically spot the icon on one of the lower corners, it's either headphones or it says acoustic

Welp, glass claim ain’t worth it through my insurance...

Dealer price is $540 after labor and taxes, so hopefully my workplace will cover the cost

Sucks, I have glass coverage, always free windshields but I have never had a break-in claim.

    Sorry.

Yep, my policy has a 500$ deductible except for glass, then its 50$. And I can use any of the third party companies I want, If I want a dealer then the insurance company does all the leg work ( I'm sure dealer gives them a better rate)

Same thing happened to me passing through Tucson in a hotel parking lot a few years ago. Same scratches on the pillar too. Glass repair shop said you just wedge a screw driver in there and it shatters. Thieves can be in and out in a couple in minutes. I had a lot of stuff taken like the radio was ripped out so I made a claim with insurance.

I have the glass breakage sensor now, but how many times do you ignore an alarm going off if it isn’t your car.

Update; because of this thread, I called my insurance company to ask about glass coverage. While they don’t have glass coverage per say, it only cost me $7 per month to lower my comprehensive coverage from a $1000 deductible to $250. My agent also told me that some of these new windshields can cost upwards of $1800 to replace. Good to go.

Dang man, that does suck. I had the same thing happen back in July. I actually had a handgun stolen... Luckily, a local glass company had an OEM replacement glass for $180. It didn't make sense for me to file a claim as the gun's value and the broken window did not exceed my $1000 deductible. Nevertheless, the occurrence has inspired me to get my dash cameras working the right way and purchasing a gun safe.
