    Hi everyone, like an idiot I was moving things the other day, came to a fast stop and a computer monitor fell on my soft center console lid and left a perforation about an inch long. It wasn't cut totally open but you can barely see the white padding underneath. It basically looks like an inch long scratch next to the plastic part where you put your phone.

    These things happen and it was my fault. Just wondering if there is some sort of glue or upholstery epoxy that I could use to seal this thing up just to prevent expansion in the future. Im not sure if the cover material is actually leather like the seats or a synthetic upholstery.

    Posting in the TRD Pro forum because Im not sure whether the material used is the same as other trims...

    any help is appreciated! thank you. John

    I wonder how much a replacement lid would be.

    @Roman is our parts guy.

    And welcome.

    Welcome from NY.

    Sorry to hear about the lid.
    @Roman is the parts guy.
    You could check Ebay for a used lid, replacement cover or a slip on material cover.
    Good luck.

    Thanks! It's easy, use a glue gun, take your time to line up the stitching and let it dry in sections as you go. I probably made it harder on myself by adding thin padding underneath. When you get the cover, lay it out in the sun first so the wrinkles go away and it's more pliable. If you don't like the way you did it anywhere, just pick off the glue and redo that part. It settles nicely over warm days.

    A lot cheaper than the factory leather Limited/Platinum lid. I linked the one with red stitching, I used black:

    I know this is an old thread. What glue did you use? Will a hot glue gun be durable over time?

    The sticks that came with the gun, just buy a decent glue gun. Just checked it out, holding up great and looks the same as above, haven't needed to think about durability at all!

    Well I ordered a red stiched leather cover to match my TRD Pro red stiched seats. I'm not sure why the Pro didn't come with a red stiched arm rest, but after seeing this the above post I knew I had to do it. So waiting for a warm day and waiting on the covered part. I also found this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qT10swLQdw I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

    i promised an update, added the leather red tiched cover I found in Ebay, not bad, I'll see how it warms up due to installing it today in 55 deg. temps, I like the red stiching the way the Pro center console lid should have come.If it doesn't tighten up, I'll take to my upholster.IMG_9457.jpg
