Picked this 2003 up in 2007 and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. A car like this can be had for 25k or less leaving you money to spare. Also the price for your Tundra is too low.

Nissan 370z plenty of power with a price that is affordable, If you go with a Lotus Exige or Elise you will have one hell of a time getting in and out of it, however you could smoke your local Hellcat drivers and they would be pissed for sure. There is a cool you tube video of a Lotus whipping a McLarens ass in the 1/4 mile.

Splurge on a Cayman S - or even better a GT4. You will drive it for free, as values are not dropping, especially as the next Cayman will be electric. Save the manuals!

You don't have much longer to live. Buy a 2013-2019 Porsche 911. You will be happy. I owned over 30 cars and the 911 checks all the boxes...... 3 miatas, 3 superformance cobras, 3 caddilac convertibles, triumph spitfire, blah blah blah.....

If you can't go above 30K - you are seriously limiting yourself to certain brands or certain age of car... Like many have said before me - if you can go up on price, get a Porsche. Most reliable sports coupe on the market. You won't regret it and you'll enjoy your 70s a whole lot more. But do keep in mind any roadster you get will be SUPER low to get in and out of. I would suggest renting the car you are thinking of buying for a day / weekend...

Out of curiosity, what was the sticker price on your truck? I recently went and got an oil change at my local Toyota dealer and came back to one of those 'act fast' hang tags that included a price. Their price was roughly within $500 of what the sticker was.

I don't know how much your 2021 SR5 was, but I'd be hard pressed to take a several thousand dollar loss on a low mileage v8...

987 Porsche Boxster, NC or ND Miata, C6 Corvette would be my recommendations. All fun to drive, commonly available, and relatively cheap to get into.

I would keep the Tacoma and get a sports car. I will be retiring end of the year. Have had corvettes pretty much since I was 30. My 19C7 Z06 the last of the manual and front engine. My beast is not going anywhere. I will get to enjoy it more pretty soon.

I’ve had a Infiniti g37s, Nissan 350z, 392 charger, driven both of dad’s c5 and c6 vettes, driven Porsches and ferrari’s. Hands down my favorite is the charger. Very comfortable, great mileage, and it’s hard to beat the sound of that 392 hemi at 6k rpm. If I did it again, I’d get the challenger with a 6spd.

    124 are cool
Same car as the Miata, but a completely different experience with that turbo. Kind of fun trying to keep it on boil.

    So to the original poster.

You say you want a two seater. Do you want a roadster. And something that doesn’t “doom to drive an aircraft carrier”
    So some simple questions.

Do you have a place to store this vehicle? Is there a garage?

Is it going to be a full-time driver?
Where do you live? Is it snowy. If there’s inclement weather such as heavy snow, will you be forced to drive it? Or do you and your wife have another vehicle that you could use for trips for getting groceries or other activities of life?

What’s your goal with this car. Do you want something to fling around and enjoy on the weekend? Are you going to go and do something like auto cross or even more?

Are you going to drive it aggressively? Or is it going to be a cruiser?

are you dead set on a roadster?

would you be better off to keep your truck and go by yourself and well-maintained older car that meets your criteria ,that scratches that itch for you? Drive it for the summer and if you don’t like it by the fall, sell it for what you paid for it or a minor loss

Like I said before, if you want to 2 seater flickable roadster, there’s very few vehicles out there that fit that bill

Just a heads up here fellas. After stopping by one of the Cs that give good offers on the net I was insulted with a 7 grand less than the net offer. My truck in pristine with only 9100 miles. I couldn't use the correct language as there were other customers near so I just said that's AWFUL and walked out. Went to the nearest Toyota dealer and reserved an GR86 that's on the boat. AND I'M KEEPING MY TRUCK. Life is short, enjoy what you got left.

The GR86 is a fine choice - I assume you got MT? For a daily driver, I have always thought it is far more fun to drive an under-powered car fast than to have to drive an over-powered one slow. Not that the 86 could be considered under-powered. My brother was into auto cross and hill climbs, and had a 2012 corvette with a whipple SC at around 600WHP. That thing was useless at legal road speeds. Meanwhile my wife used to have a little honda fit sport, and that thing was a blast to drive - like a little gocart!

I've always wanted a convertible challenger as a cruiser, easy to get in and out, no need to fold myself, and it sounds good.
