Nice transformation! I wish they had TRD Pro grille for pre-14 Tundras.

Yes, I didn't know that they could paint over chrome, but they said they could do it. And it turned out really good

So it's been a while, but life gets busy and time flys. So last I left off I had just got everything back from paint and I was stoked to have everything together for the first time since owning the rig. Then I cleaned her up.image.jpg

I have also just last week installed and 3&1 lift and new wheels and tires. Also have light bar and bumper lights to install as soon as time becomes available. Will post pic of lift as soon as she is all cleaned up.

I went when I should have stopped. Lol ran into a vice handle on the back of a work truck. My wife said I just wanted an excuse to spend more money and do more mods to my truck. Lol

Black rhino wheels, and fierce attitude tires. I actually down sized to 18" from the stock 20" for a better ride.

nice truck yota, I too have the black rhino 18" wheels wrapped in Good Year kevlar Mtrs on my 2004, but they cause a lot of vibration in my front end unless I air em down to about 30 psi. Did you have any vibration issues with your tire wheel set up?

Thanks mtntop, I have had no issues yet, but I have different tires. With the fierce attitude's I have, at driveway speed I can feel the tires but once I accelerate all I feel is a smooth ride. I also have these exact tires on my wife's 4Runner and she has had them for a year and drove across country with them. She has Had no complaints about them.

Great looking truck man. I'm happy to be a poser and say "that's exactly what I'm doing to my 2016 SR5 TSS as well". ;-)

I'm picking mine up today from getting the Pro Comp Nitro lift installed along with remote start and GTR LED's for all possible lighting. Waiting on Headlight Revolution to get their 32" stealth light bar setup in stock.

I'm struggling with what shoes to throw on the stock 20" that came with the truck as an extra $1k in the pocket sounds nice. That said, I'm interested in how much of a difference in looks and ride it will make on some 35/12.5's tires. What size did you go with and did you have to cut or is there any rub? I'm digging the Fuel lineup and Toyo Open Country M/T's but $3k worth of trial and error makes me cringe.

Thanks and have fun with you build man. If your going with the nitro 3-1 lift, your not gonna fit 35x12.50x20. Not without doing a lot of cutting, if at all unless you go up to a 6" lift. I went with a slightly smaller tire and had to do trimming and still need to do more, I have very limited turning radius when backing up. I've trimmed enough of the plastic but to get my full turning radius I'm going to have to trim some of the metal on the bumper. I've seen people run that tire with this lift, looks amazing but I never looked to see what kinda cutting they had done or if they went with 33 or 35. As for the ride part in not sure since a went down to 18 from 20. Less wheel = more rubber = smoother ride. My truck rides a lot smoother now after lift and change in shoe size. I went with a LT325/65/r18 which is basically just 33.5"x12.50. Hope this helps you out, i would take pic of how much cutting I've don't but it's raining outside now, I'll take one later and post so you can see what I've cut so far.

Sounds good man and thanks again for all the info. That'll help tremendously in deciding what to do with the tire/rims. I'm going to do the laziest thing possible and simply drop off the truck at my local off-road and basically say "I want 35's if possible, 33's if required and to have a full turn radius". We'll see what they come up with but I can barely cut my toe nails without creating a jagged edge, let alone my truck. ;-) I don't mind cutting into some stuff a bit as long as it doesn't affect the look too much.

I'll follow up with my off road companies findings, but my goal is to run 35's on those 20" and let them cut away (without affecting cosmetics or drivability much). Otherwise, I may just have to roll with what you've got going on. Either way, it sounds like they'll be cutting a bit. Might as well spend the money now versus double it later. Thanks again boss!
