Although I fiddle around with cars to some extent and do all my own maintenance I have never done a timing belt

As long as they weren’t leaking, I left them alone. Never had to do them on the LS. I’ll see what it looks like when I get the VC opened up

Once it starts showing on the outside (arrows) its bad. That is an overlap area where shtuff gets trapped and bubbles outward. Same happens on the front c-frame boxed in area around the engine. Reason why I do prevent maintenance PB Blaster Showers so they soak into the welds and folds.

There is a picture floating the internet of a Toy truck snapped in half hanging on a dealership lift. This is the spot it snapped.

I'd be worried about the second one also. In addition to what PHM showed, it looks like the front has been painted, but it doesn't look like the rust was cleaned up or removed first, so it's just sitting there eating away at the truck.

I have to agree with the above opinions.

Mine was worse, but I only paid 2 grand for it and I was fully prepared to invest the time needed to make it right.
The rust near the rear (where the Tundra folded on the lift) can be problematic since there is no ready made repair kit for those areas. I ended up fabricating the frame stiffeners from 1/4 inch steel plate and made them about twice as long as the Toyota original stiffeners, to assist in spreading the load out on the frame more.
I guess I’m surprised that North Carolina trucks have this kind of rust...?

"Cons - exhaust leak , some rust price reflects it"

That's the least of concerns if it is leaking somewhere from the cat back.

I'm more concerned with the comment on the rust, get some more details on that.
