    Hey guys,

Any of you know what this means for my truck? Is it because it’s a crew cab? There is no lift on this truck.

Any aftermarket parts on it? Or completely stock? Seen these stickers on moded trucks, not just lifted.

Aftermarket wheels, tires, bumpers ect without a lift add weight.

The dealer/port adds that for anything they add to the truck after it leaves the factory; anything that adds weight that essentially reduce your carrying capacity and/or makes the truck's gross weight heavier than the way it left the factory. (I guess some lawyer was involved in that decision).
    Bedliner, step bars, hitch, etc.

My truck has that sticker too. It came w spray on bedliner and side steps that probably causes it. Anything that adds weight to the truck subtracts load

This started when Toyota got burned on the Sienna minivan by adding the factory trailer hitch and pushing some vans beyond the GVWR. They actually discontinued offering the OEM Toyota hitch over this.

More idiocy from lawyers just like the "check drivers floor mat" is part of every vehicle service recommendation as a response to unintended acceleration claims against Toyota.

It's also why you can't get moonroof and factory bed liner together (dealers just do the accessory liner and add the sticker instead)

I know why, mine had original tank of 26, it is upgraded to 38 gallons. That would lower the total carrying capacity since its total to entire vehicle.

Did you get the upgraded fuel tank or something like that? It would augment the original factory value on an upgrade.

That’s a good point, but no. I filled up when pretty low at it stopped pumping at almost 25 gallons.

Someone said there could have been mods done before then put back to factory but I have no idea.

Pretty low at 25 gallons would be only 1 gallon left if you had the small tank. I bet you have 38 gallon tank.

Did you buy it new or used? If it's new you should see the "upgrade" items on the window sticker. If it's used then no saying what was upgraded. I wonder if they upgrade the engine like how Chevy does, it can come with a V6 and upgrade to a V8 something like that would change the GVWR rating. Doesn't Toyota make 2 engine size displacements for the Tundra? Sorry I don't know since this is my first Tundra. :D

Used. Got in in April. I doubt it since this truck has the labeled 5.7L engine and the VIN indicates the same thing. I’ll have to check stickers or something to see if there is anything like that on it.

How so if when I fill up after the low fuel light comes on and it pumps to 22-23 gallons of fuel to put it back to full? Is there a label on the tank that would say that?

You're most likely on 26 gallon, from what I've heard 38 will make you fill up at 30 so you would need to fill 30 gallons or so. I haven't had to fill up my tank yet so.. i don't know LOL, I always fill it half way on all my trucks.

When my low fuel light comes on it usually takes 19 or 20 gallons. They like to leave about 6 gallons of fuel in there to keep the pump cool. But I just realized you have a second generation which doesn’t have a 38 gallon option. Sorry my mistake. I was just surprised how low your tank gets before the light comes on.

Oh got it. I actually don’t know when I actually comes on, but it seems to do so when there’s around 4 gallons left.

Yeah this sticker is a mystery.

I think the sticker itself is not a mystery anymore, but the 380 pounds certainly is. My truck came with the larger fuel tank, bed liner, deck rail system, tow bar (which might be standard), but my sticker only shows 33 pounds. 380 pounds is quite a bit.
It will take some heavy iron like tow bar, skid plates etc. to add up to that. :notsure:

I got this in April of this year and haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary to add this weight. Wheels, bumper, hitch look stock. There is the plastic bed liner in it but that can’t be 380 pounds.

So in order for this sticker to be added, this would have been a customized truck built at the factory and stuck on by them? Is there a way to find out by its VIN number or calling Toyota?

No, customized at the dealer or distributor, after it leaves the factory.

I don’t see what could’ve been added to make that much weight. I want to say it’s a typo

No, but the SR5 upgrade or TRD off road upgrade will add weight. Factory has stickers for factory weights, then add additional stickers to upgraded packages would be my guess.

Mine isn’t the TRD model nor does it have the SR5 emblem on the truck, but the VIN does show it as an SR5.
