My salesman sent me this today, which is like the window sticker. It’s the details of my truck specific to my VIN. See right column, 6th row.

SR5 'upgrade' package is inclusive of the 38-gallon tank, so if that was part of your build then you should have a 38 gallon tank...

Trucks with just the SR5 'convenience' package ONLY did NOT come w/the 38 gallon tank...

490 distance to empty? Proof right there you have the 38 gal tank. I’ve had 5 Tundras now and the last 3 had the bigger tank and the most I ever got in was maybe 30 gal and fuel was spilling on the ground at that point… my tank distance to empty display shows 430-435 after a fill up and that’s on the high end for most folks on here so at 490 you are getting pretty good mpg (for a Tundra!)

Sounds like you have the 38 gallon tank. You have to run them really low to get anywhere near 30 gallons. If you fill up when it’s 1/4 tank it will take 24-26 gallons.

MPG is okay, but I’ve only ever put 24 gallons in with the light on. That means it has like a 14 gallery zero is ridiculous because it’s unused space today that Bender confirmed I only have a 26 gallon tank.
i filled up empty when the light came on.

Read the service tech’s notes from today. He really needs to go back to school and learn about Tundra’s!

My 26 gallon tank shows below the red line at 21 gallons I've run it beyond 23 gallons but it sure makes your ass twitch being in the red for that long, you must be quite the cool cat if you are getting 24 gallon fill ups on a 26 tank. Different gen I know but I know I'm pushing it if I had 360 miles out of a fill up, I reset the trip every fill - not because I'm that anal but because I like to stick it to the taxman at the end of the year!

It seems like I have a 14 gallon reserve if I’m supposed to have a 38 gallon tank, which the window sticker said it had. But now to find out from the dealer that it only has a 26 gallon tank. Someone in the production of somebody screwed up.

Dealerships are idiots. Hit the "Upload a File" button in the bottom right corner of the forum reply box and post up a picture of the underside of your truck from the driver side. The large tank is unmistakably huge.

It is usable. You can drive well beyond the fuel light, but because the 38 gallon tank is so long (about 6 feet) you could starve the pump on an incline. To avoid this, Toyota has the gauge and light set to come on very conservatively.

I am going to the dealership to pick up my truck today which is 60 miles away one way. When I get back home with it, I’m going to try and go underneath of it and look. However, the dealer did confirm and say there is only a 26 gallon tank installed in it. But like you said they are idiots so they probably didn’t even look and just assumed it.
