Just curious of what you guys have to say. Interested in buying a $20,000 2014 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited Blue with black leather, sunroof, navigation. It has an awesome Carfax. 0 accidents 14 Maintenence reported 1 owner. The problem it has 140,000 miles. My mechanic took a look at it and say it looks great but I still think it’s a gamble because of the miles. Some people say it’s too many miles and some people say that’s nothing. Can any of you give me your opinion ? Buy or don’t buy

For a Toyota that’s barely broken in. If you drive a lot in your day to day life, maybe something with less miles would be better.

There’s a lot of Toyotas out there with 200,000, 300,000m plus.
As long as nothing has been modified and it’s got no super charger it’s probably a pretty solid deal

Thats nice truck. Best color too!!
I think it'll depend on how much you'll drive it. But $20 seems cheap even for 140k miles. Was 20k the agree price or listed price? I think I'd go for it to be honest. You will probably get 100k trouble free miles out of it.

With the condition of the truck, most of the miles MUST be freeway... offer a couple / few grand less and see what they say... seems like a solid truck...

The mileage doesn't worry me that much. I wouldn't buy it because it's not 4 wheel drive.

The mileage isn't necessarily concerning, but you could probably get a nice 4x4 2nd gen with less miles for that price.

Welcome from Texas, I bought my '14 with 26000, sitting at 56300, that Tundra looks clean! Any way of contacting owner find out how they drove it if they hauled towed heavy loads maybe just a lot of highway miles?

    Welcome.

    Looks like a clean truck.

2 factors: your yearly mileage driven and drive out price. 10-15k miles a year and maybe $1k off would be good.

read all the docs.. truck was probably bought in 2013,which makes it 5 years old now.. averaging about 2300 miles a month. is 3k miles to go from USA coast coast, Therefore I would question the motive of all that driving. Disect the shop records see what repairs were done. Look for excessive ware and tear repairs...That could be a sign of a whole lot of towing..Tundras are infamous for been abused in the towing department then traited in for a new one.

No way in hell. That is a ton of miles and it does not matter how great the cosmetic condition is, its how hard the truck was driven. That you wil never know and with that any miles, it is a HUGE risk. You are better off lighting you money on fire then a gamble like this...

    Too many to list
It all depends on the condition of the car after this many miles.

My brother and I had mercedes at the same time, same color, same year,
Mine had 148,000 miles and it was awesome which made my brother buy the same car with 78,000 miles for less than what i paid for my car.
His car turned out to be a piece of shit. Stayed at the shop more and less on the road.

Don't worry about Toyotas, 200k-300k is norm.

It shows a TRD Off Road decal. Is that not 4WD? These different decals depending on the area is getting confusing. Here we have TRD 4X4 and TRD Sport. Then there is TSS 4X4 in the Southeast and who knows how many variations. Working on an Air Force Base, I see a lot of different ones.

It can still be a TRD even if it’s 2 wheel drive. The rims appear to be standard limited rims, so I think the decals were added after the fact.

It kinda looks like an aftermarket TRD sticker. There's no dial/selector on the dash for 4 hi n lo.

I noticed that, but wasn't sure if there was another way to engage a 4WD system. Thanks.

I would not buy it. Doing a quick search you can get a 2013 crewmax with 57k miles for 25k. But would also depend on how long you plan to keep truck. If you plan to keep it for while I would pass. 2 years or so then go for it.

Depends on what the OP is looking for. I have zero need for 4WD, bought my 2018 because it was 2WD. 16-17mpg as a result. BTW, that is a nice looking Tundra, looks like it was well taken care of. Mileage would be no worry to me, I sold my 2006 to my daughter with 225,000 on it and it will go many 100k miles more.

You could do a search on Carfax and see what your market shows for prices for comparison. Actually, you could probably also run a Carfax on that vehicle and see some of the history.

Buy it!!! 140k miles on a Toyota Tundra is not bad at all. I have one of my Tundras with 302k miles and it’s a 2010. The truck is solid. No issues......if you can find a “Limited” Tundra that’s only 4 years old and in discharge a great condition, for $20K, that’s a great deal.

Looks great and well cared for, make sure the cam towers are not leaking. That is a $3,500 repair and quite often occurs on both 4.6 and 5.7 motors. My 2014 driver's side tower is leaking now with 48,000 miles.

real easy to put those miles on. I bought my 17 Tundra new in November and my odometer will turn 20K by the end of the week. I have a 56 mile round trip commute every day. My daughter plays select soccer and it is 100 miles round trip for a game and then there are out of town tourneys and practices. This truck has also made 3 trips to the TX coast which is about 800 miles round trip and at least another 100 each trip driving up and down the beach looking for fishing spots. All this doesn't include the grocery getting and other every day stuff.
