Whoah whoah whoah, the UW plates is probably why he got hit. But, you are correct, things would have been much worse if he had uncle Phil's plates on. Go Beavers!

Glad you're okay man! Like others have said though, you may have a lot of potential here for a part out. Headlights, interior, motor/tranny, etc.

Glad you're safe and Best of luck on your recovery!

Damn that is a tough sight, but very glad you made it out okay from that. The truck took that like a champ.

On a postive note I am guessing that the truck is considered totaled. ?. but I am baffled with 44k in repair bill.

I too bought another Tundra. Truly a safe vehicle. I hope you get some time to relax and truck shop during your recovery. Insurance should be kind to you. The Tundra holds its value really well!

Man that sucks. Glad you're okay though. I had sort of a similar situation happen in July, I have a thread on here about it. My crash was more toward the back of the truck. I'm wondering now what makes the axle break loose like that, mine did too. I've seen other trucks in the bone wrecks and the axle stays put.

My '07 axle stayed put, but the hub broke off.

I've noticed a lot of these wrecked 3rd gens have a crooked axle too. These pics are pretty detailed so I looked for the fail point when he first posted. Looks like the leaf packs slip. Kind of interesting.

Hope you have a speedy recovery. I wrecked my 2014 a little over 2 yrs ago, only thing I got was a bump on my head from the b pillar, my airbags didn't deploy. So, I'd say they are pretty safe. It wasn't totaled, but I wasn't happy with the repair, so my local dealership got it, I traded for a new 2017.

Last Father’s Day my 2000 was hit while parked (drunk driver). 95,000 miles and nearly perfect condition. I’ll be buying a new Tundra in the spring.

it must be open season on Tundra’s.

Congrats on your WOOOOOF 2.0. I am glad that Tundra did its job. So what color are you going to choose for your next Tundra? You could go with a cool color like silver.
