This is a dresser I built for my son.

This is a bed I built for my son. I built my daughter the same bed and dresser.

My house has all Maple trim floors and doors so I turned all my fan mounts out of Maple and cut on ceiling angle for a little extra touch.

You and me both. I'm building my 3rd house from foundation to furniture including all the doors (garage too) and windows. Heck, I even made Koi fish and lily pad tiles and set them into the concrete MB floor (radiant heat). With relief joints in semicircles it resembles a pond. Since the room is leaning in the blue direction, I added about 1.5 coffee cans of fine sand to each 5 gal of drywall mud and about 1.5 lbs of blue chalk line chalk. I skimmed the entire wall so it resembles a smooth beach, no painting required either.

So, about finishes. I think I've tried almost all of 'em, shellac, lacquer spray and brush, varnish, poly urethane, tung oil, linseed oil, epoxy even some soy based clears. The best finish I've found is something I learned from Sam Maloof. Make it yourself, it's 3 parts.
    1/3 boiled linseed oil
1/3 turpentine (this is important, paint thinner will NOT suffice)
    1/3 gloss marine spar varnish
Just apply the finish liberally and wet sand it in. You'll create a slurry that'll help fill open grain. You want the entire surface to look wet for at least 5 min. while sanding it in. If it's a big piece and stays wet longer it's not a problem. Apply a minimum of 3 coats, minimum 400 grit. It needs to cure between applications and that's generally at least 24hrs.
What you end up with is a durable satin finish that is SUPER easy to maintain and repair.

My grandfather made all the cabinets for the kitchen back in the 60's.We had a freezer in this spot, so I had to fill it. I sent the first picture to my wife and said , what do you think of a butcher's block top for it and she was like "um... ok" this was my first attempt at building a cabinet. I think my grandfather would be proud ;)

Yeah. It looks pretty cool and prices are resonable. Reviews on the website are good, but they could be fluff from the company.
The only contact info about the company is a phone number and email address. Makes me leery when I can find a street address.
I’m going to send them an email with questions but I’d like to hear from someone not found on their site who actually has one.

My dad and brother are woodworkers ~ I have trouble building a fire !
I did my time in ship repair and sheet metal work.
The best I can do is plane a gate so it doesn't stick when it rains and the wood swells up !

The Sellers cabinet was in my grandparents house then was in my father's room for years. My wife wanted it cleaned up. Took it apart, sanded and painted and our new coffee bar.021.jpg 006.jpg 007.jpg 023.jpg 024.jpg
I cleaned up all the hardware with an old crockpot. Let them soak overnight and used a wire wheel in my drill press.

That's a unique/ really cool cabinet. Your resto job was perfect IMO just cleaning and reusing the original hardware. I also like the fact that you (tastefully) use COLOR on your walls. WAAAAAY to much drab, grey in designs today.

I also placed recessed lighting while the ceiling was down. 6 pots and dimmable led lights.

My wife bought the medallion online and the fan was from Lowes. Not too bad of a match.20190118_211414.jpg

Was at Lowes and got this led light for the coffee bar20190118_211402.jpg
