Jewelers use rhodium to plate gold. Will make yellow gold look like white gold. Even white gold always looks a little yellow and needs to be plated with rhodium to get the silver color. Price of rhodium skyrocketed.

Great info, man. Pretty slick stuff. Apparently back in May 2021 the stuff went for $29K an OUNCE. It's found in catalytic converters...

Yeah, all jewelers use rhodium. I remember a large bottle of rhodium costing like $50 back in the day. That same bottle is like $1000 now. Luckily it actually takes very little rhodium to plate gold.

Gold seems to be at a max therefore profits would be minimal and you would have to watch it pretty close. Whom ever had some when it jumped well,,,, they have something.

I feel the best thing to invest in a mineral would be silver. Last time it went to 28 plus I cashed in and wished I should have kept it all. I buy silver rounds and bars when ever I can.
I have a certain number of ounces I want to have and if I go over that it is all the better. I also have set a sell number that I will look at if it ever gets the high.
Silver would be the best bet. :) better chance of more profit and better chance that price now will climb. JMO Find a local place that deals in both and make friends with the crew, chances are you will get better prices if you deal with one place. I also purchase online from modern coin mart and pinehurst coin but you have to watch prices and take advantage when possible

I watch the precious metal indexes several times each day. Silver is a buy right now. Has been the last couple weeks. Got to 25ish and now under 23. Silver is much more volatile than gold but gold is certainly a winner historically. The dollar is nothing more than "trust us" money. Backed by debt. Ha!

I definitely like the affordability of silver right now. I told my wife it looks to be the poor man's gold atm.

I also like old, low mintage 90% Morgans and Peace dollars and now the new US Mint Morgan's that came out last year. A pic of the newly released Perth Mint 1 ounce 99.99% silver Year of the Dragon round and my nifty Royal Canadian Mint $100 silver round. Mintage was only 5,000.

Rhodium prices have been inflated for some time. Seems Cats will eventually be a memory at some point and Rhodium demand will drop like a rock, driving down it's monetary value.

I usually end up paying about 2 dollars over spot for silver or a little less give or take. I have been buying silver from the same place now for about two years or so, they are fair priced with me.

I've used SD and JM in the past. Hero Bullion has better prices over spot. Silvertowne is darn good too. Quantity purchases get you the best pricing closer to spot and how you pay for it.

He is. He likes going through my old coins. I have a rare 1807 1/2 cent. One year after Lewis and Clark returned from their "trip".

JM Bullion and Silvertowne are on my list too. The two coin places usually have free shipping, plus they have insurance on it. Most lately it seems has free shipping on most orders.

This is usually good. 75+% gold placer sourced from the Yukon River. Hint..bring a gold pan with you while staying overnight in your truck with dog near Whitehorse under the bridge just before you enter town. I stayed overnight there under the bridge in my Taco driving up to AK and on my way back. There was a 7/11 type store in town. The Pakistani owner would let me sh#t and shave after fueling up both times passing thru. Ha! Not much, a couple grams, but enough to get gold fever! @texasrho83

My lead and brass collection has blow my precious metals out of the water in terms of value. I have a 5000rd case of .22LR that I paid under $200 for. Same ammo sells for $450+ per case now. My large rifle magnum primers I paid $50 per 1000 for are now worth between $400 and $600 per 1000 depending on location.

I mean, it's all paper gains because none of it will ever be for sale, but I wish my stocks and metals did as well.

I get you. I have way too much various ammo in my storage unit. A lot. All purchased before 2011. Reloading goodies too! I could make a killing selling off some of it. I got sick and don't have time to use it. Sold off all my firearms to pay medical bills. Although I put a deposit down on a Ruger Ranch Rifle .30 Mini-14 today. Downside....I have no .30 cal ammo. Shit. The walnut mini is $1057. The quasi crap stainless they had was $1227! Damn. I remember the Ruger Mini .30 walnut was $800 not too long ago.
