My wireless charger that came installed in my limited has never worked properly. I’m interested in this new version 2.2 of the Qi protocol upcoming from Apple timed with release the new version of the iPhone this coming September.

is this something that could potentially be installed in place of the Toyota version while retaining the stock front plate? Many thanks for your thoughts.

“the filings reveal two new MagSafe charger models – A3503 and A3502 – that support the upgraded Qi 2.2 standard. The chargers feature the familiar white puck design with braided cables in 2-meter and 1-meter lengths, respectively.

It's a notable upgrade mainly because of the faster charging speed. Qi 2.2 is technically capable of up to 50W charging output.

Testing documents show the chargers work with devices ranging from the iPhone 16 back to the iPhone 11, indicating the Qi 2.2 pucks will have broad compatibility with existing devices, but charging speeds are going to be limited when using older models.

Does anyone happen to have the part number for the non-wireless charger center tray? I’d love to swap out my oem wireless charger with the plain piece…

Using one of these is basically what I did, so yes.

Awesome work @Goobax ! When the time comes I’ll definitely be asking you how you got such a clean install, step by step. Thx for the inspiration and I love the digicamo you used! Cheers!

I’ll say it again. Why don’t manufacturers use the MagSafe feature in chargers?

I’m really tempted to do a project like this.

Did Toyota ever issue a recall about this, or will they repair the system under warranty? It has never worked for me, is 100% defective and never charges for more than a few moments before switching to the red indicator and stopping charging. For those of us who paid for this package, it is clearly defective and requires a replacement.
