    The only thing I wish the stock head unit had was dual Bluetooth so I could connect my other phone that I have my spotify on and leave it in my console so it automatically connects and I could connect my main phone for android auto.

    Do they make a decent Apple Carplay version of this? I've seen some but they all seem to be junk from a review standpoint.

    Question. I just got a used 2021 this past Saturday. I downloaded the app and connected to the truck with a cable. I need this cable to run Android auto all the time unless i buy one of these things?

    Correct - the amount of bandwidth Android Auto uses exceeds what can be sent via bluetooth. So either a physical connection or wifi connection (like this Motorola adapter) is needed to function.

    Works as advertised so far. No lags at all. I have it in my factory USB slot and running on my Pioneer. For a cleaner install and to regain my USB port, I am going to relocate it to the USB port on the back of the radio.

    The other option is a USB extension cable and I can just drop it straight down and stick it under the passenger side dash.

    If your Bluetooth and location is already turned o. In your phone, not long at all. I'm happy with it so far.

    I plugged mine into the factory USB by the shifter, notched the plastic and removed the shifter / cup holder trim piece. Put a piece of extra strength velcro on the unit and attached it to the carpet beneath the trim. reinstalled the trim. All you see in the usb plug (get a 90 degree one).

    i just unplug it at the USB port then; can’t use wireless CarPlay and usb stick at the same time anyway I don’t think.

    Even my jvc 10” wont let you use carplay and watch movies on the thumb drive at the sametime. Carplay must be disconnected for mirroring and movies on thumb drive.

    Got mine installed. Super easy and also can report it connects quickly and no lag. I'm happy. Combine that with being able to get my fast wireless charging pad working and that should help with the drain from using AA wirelessly.
