I was scouring the auto parts websites as I neednew wiper blades. I found trico neoform wiper blades on advance auto parts yesterday for $4.50 each!!!! I bought two pair and had a $5 perks reward. So I got all four for less than $15!!!! I tried to search for my wife’s rav4 and daughters 4runner today but they were back up to $20 each.

I stockpile whatever costco has when they go on sale. Sometimes they last a few months, sometimes all winter. But I replace as needed.

You can buy the OEM blades from "behind the parts counter." Not the stuff that a dealership puts out on the lil' sales floor area. They were $22 per side. My original pair lasted over 4 years.

I just a had a chance discussion on wiper blades with a coworker. The two biggest destroyers of wiper blades are 1. Running them over ice/frost on your windshield, and 2. Bugs. The 3rd is likely regular use. Both factors 2 and 3 can be reduced significantly by applying a good hydrophobic ceramic coating to your windshield. It makes the bugs easier to get off and reduces the need to use windshield wipers as much. Actively avoiding running them over frost can obviously be done with or without the coating. The ice crystals cut the rubber thousands of times with each pass over the frost. If I could only get my wife and kids to pay attention to this!

Yup. Good wiper management, like good battery management, is its own best reward. If I too could only get the wonderful Mrs. McGov. to also pay attention to this.

I'm on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and I can still get at least 3-4 years out of my wipers.

I bet we all have different definitions of “time to replace”. My OCD needs a clean wipe every swing. First minor smear or cut and a new wiper goes on.

I see some people driving with blades that just smear water. It probably is worse than of they just let the wind blow the rain off.

Speaking of frost, sun, etc. Foam pipe insulation is your friend folks. When truck is parked a week at a time outdoors slip a sleeve on those wipers. Same during Winter storms while parked. Nice fresh clean wipers:thumbsup:

just installed bosch icon this week. Much better than the tricos that were on there and only lasted about 3 months before getting hard and streaking.

I have used the bosch icon and the rain-x high end ones......all didn't last more than 4 months and for the cost I wasn't going to justify them again.

Been using the Michelin Guardian Hybrid Wiper Blade from Costco for about a month here in Phoenix where we actually had a decent amount of rain in 30 years. Wipers are a massive disappointment on our trucks. On return stroke they leave a large amount of rain but the biggest complaint is the insane amount of noise/chatter they make. I keep reading reviews from several sites for our trucks and I hate to say it but the OEM seem to be the best without spending $30-$40 apiece for a wiper.

That’s not good. I’ve had good experience with Bosch Icons and stock up on them when on sale or discounted on Amazon for about $20 each. I have a set from Costco in the garage waiting since they were on sale for $6 each. Guess I won’t have high expectations for them.

OEM blades. Not cheap but last for years. I clean them and spray them with 303 a few times a year.

Bought 3 sets of these last week, but unfortunately none for my Tundra. My OEM ones were replaced by the dealer and still streaking after cleaning them and the glass twice. Starting to wonder if theres not an issue with my arms.

I've had 2 sets of OEM and one set of Sightlines. They all were crap straight out of the box (but at least they're expensive). The proper refills (rubber only) that are available for our 2004 Sienna are far superior and cheaper, so I put the blame on the "beam" style of blade we're stuck with.
