A question for those who use live in winter environments. What preventive maintenance to you do to your vehicle? Would you undercoat a new truck?

    No

But I do rinse it really well on a weekly basis, sometimes more but I also tend to buy amother vehicle every 4 years or so. I'm not worried about wear on it, but its really dry in the summer so rust and corrosion isn't much of a factor here

Iv never worried about my other cars lol. I just plan on keeping for a long time. I think I am going to undercoat my Subaru this year. It has 100k on it. I'm going to try to get another 100k on it.

MotorKote and Lucas upper cylinder treatments work wonders at cold starts when it's -30F. Lived it in AK.

Shortly after our Tundra purchase, I wished I did undercoat it. 15 years later, I have no regrets. No rust to speak of, yet.

If you can rinse the de-icer off, put it in a heated garage and keep it waxed 2,3-4 times a year, that will be a plus. If I had just one to pick, it'd be the heated garage. The engine and running gear will appreciate it and that's my preventive maintenance, for what it's worth.
