North Dakota here already have 12" of snow. I keep a tote in the back with kinetic rope, soft shackles, chain, jumper cables. A few 60 lb sand-ina-tube help. 2 shovels spade and long handle grain shovel. Warm clothes/boots in the cab.

Check rust proofing before they cover roads with salt. This winter will be the 4th winter, had to reapply Noxudol (scraped while offroading or gone after power washing). So far so good.

Your list makes you sound like an axe murderer with a type A personality!

    A) Gloves because you don't want fingerprint evidence!
    B) Shovel because you gotta burry the body
    C) Axe/Hatchet (Do I really need to explain?)
    D) Blanket just in case someone walks by while body being buried
    E) Old towel 'cause how else do you administer the Ether
    F) Two cliff bars because axe murdering works up an appetite
    G) Two regularly rotated bottles of water bottles because you don't want to risk finger prints or DNA
    H) Muck boots because burying bodies is a dirty job

You must listen to true crime podcasts, lol. I listen to a couple at work and they are fascinating. My stepdad is retired law enforcement, my brother is a current Detective who's worked a few homicides, and I'm former law enforcement lite (Federal Park Ranger, corrections officer, Homeland Security).

Just about every good ol' boy around here with a pickup has a complete murder kit in their vehicle. Everyone has gloves, rope, duct tape, knives, a small axe, towels, etc. Heck, for hunting season, most also carry bone saws, skinning knives, paper towels and soap for washing off blood, garbage sacks or meat sacks, and hooks to hang an elk or deer upside down for skinning.

Yet we have the lowest crime rates in the country.

We scare the immigrants from California...

All the usual kit stays in the truck, I just pull out the water bottles. I add a bag with winter clothing and a blanket, an extra jug of -40 washer fluid and check the charge on the Noco jump starter once a week.

Not sure when RainX came out, but I have been using it ever since in multiple vehicles and I have never had any problems with it.

How do people keep water in their trucks so it doesn't freeze?

A tiny splash of vodka in the bottle keeps it from freezing. I just take the bottles out of the truck for winter. I'll put a couple in for road trips though

You just let it freeze. Then when you're stranded with no food or fuel, you use to body warmth to melt the bottles back to liquid form so that you have water.

Or cut the plastic off of the frozen water and lick the ice like a popsicle to stay hydrated.

Aside from the shit I have in the truck year round, I usually just add winter gear to the truck. Boots, bibs, jacket, gloves, etc.
Last 2 trucks were 4wd. Current truck is 2wd. Aside from mounting actual snow tires to help the 2wd, the only extra things I'll add are a snow shovel and a bucket of rock salt, just in case I get stuck. They do well keeping the roads clear and I won't be on the side of a mountain or in the woods, so I won't have any grappling hooks or winches, etc.

Chucking the popsicle in a Jet Boil works good too. Ice > Snow when it comes to melting for water.

Only if that Jet Boil is included in your winter kit. PocketRockets are a good small alternative.

A Jet Boil lives in my road trip bag all year round. PocketRockets are great too.

A very budget friendly bit of snow melting kit is an esbit stove, some fuel cubes and a cheap pot from a thrift store. You can probably be all in for well under $20.

If you're keeping food on board, I'd make sure it's in a sealed container of some sort to keep critters from being attracted to it. Or at least keep it next to your dikfer.

They're super handy. I wouldn't take them on a backpacking trip or anything like that but as an emergency stove, they're perfect. I picked mine up at a dollar store for a couple bucks each including a dozen tabs of fuel.

Ok, if serious, that is straight up retarded.

It was really a rhetorical question.

There is no way to be able to keep water liquid in your truck, in the middle of winter.

    It was just a joke.

Depending on outside temperature here, I can keep large water bottles without freezing. Especially if buried under a blanket or a hoodie. Once it gets to low teens or single digits though, the water will freeze.
