I want to get some aftermarket tow mirrors. Most like the trail ridge mirrors. I dont have the time to install them myself so I'm wondering if I bring them to dealership, they will install them for me? Has anyone else tried that?

Not far. But what I really dont have time for is to accidentally mess something up and have to start over or put my old mirrors back on and try again on a different day.

It’s pretty simple mod takes like 15 min. Pull the door panel take the bolts off holding the mirror unplug the old one plug in the new bolt back on then put the door panel on.

Watch some YouTube videos. You'll also have to wait in the dealership for them to finish it up or get a loaner or another ride to escape the dealership so you can run other errands. But call up your specific dealership and ask them. Most times yes, they will install but will not provide any warranty as you didn't buy the part from them. If they dropped they dropped the tow mirrors and mess it up or the tow mirrors come on the mail defective, you still have to pay for their labor.

All you do is pop the top of the door panel off and you can get to the screws. There are 3 per side. Takes 15 min. Like others said you won’t save time having the dealer to do it unless someone else takes your truck in. But it’ll probably cost you $100-$200.

Its not hard to mess up.

He must have meant that. I swapped in my tow mirrors in about 20 min total. If i was rushing i could have did it in 10. Unless you drop the dang mirror or something, u really cant mess it up

Just got my set from A1 Auto, installed in minutes, well, I dropped a nut inside the driver door and had to find it. That took longer than the install. Running Light, Blinker light, Power Mirror all worked as advertised, Install was really simple. Just be careful with the nuts. No there is not the closer than appear on the passenger side but with the lower mirror its so much better than the stock.

I had to pull the stock mirrors a couple times making my custom puddle lights on my SR5.

That was going to be my comment, make sure you don't drop one of those nuts down into the door.
It won't fall to the bottom, it falls down into a little 'pocket' under the mirror bolts.
Took me 30 minutes to fish it out with a magnet.

There is no way I'd pay anyone to swap a mirror.
Just be careful with the nuts, and don't let them fall into the door.
Shouldn't take more than 45 minutes (that is being generous) for both sides.

I never found mine!! Just gave up after not finding it or hitting the door have it fall. Tried a magnet and no help. figured it would at some time fall to the bottom and then I would poop the panel off and get it at that time. Its really easy to get the panel off.
Oh and lower the mirror if your doing it by yourself!!

Just don't drop the nuts inside the door when you go to thread them back on. Like others are saying though, this is very easy to do with above videos.
I've done it twice (three times actually) without issue.

Just read above, ha! - yes, exactly what @1lowlife said.:hattip:

I dropped one of mine down in the door when I was taking my tow mirrors off and putting the stockers on since I wouldn't be towing till spring. After an hour of trying to fish out the nut, I learned that it was wedged in a 2 piece portion of stamped metal. I ended up just going to a parts store and finding one of those metric nut/bolt/washer assortment kits and using a washer and nut on the stud.

Thanks guys. It does look a lot easier than I thought. I just need to pull the trigger on some mirrors and find time to do it myself.
