Will 2nd gen floor mats fit a 1st gen?

I'm thinking about conducting a little science experiment, just wondering if I'm willing to go through the initial investment lol.

I've been searching this forum and the other tundra forum and have seen people comment on what gens fit others in terms of floor mats, I haven't seen any detailed pics. At least, on the level of shifty's post about his experience with weather tech. Since husky liners seem to be the favorite around here, I'm tempted to pick up a set for the 2nd and maybe even 3rd Gen and doing a detailed fitment test on my 1st Gen DC.

 

I won’t buy a set unless it covers a minimum of 75% of the dead man pedal. That carpet area wears out the quickest.

 

So i was able to snag a cheap used set of husky mats intended for a 2nd gen. Rear mat will not fit at all (i somewhat expected this). The fronts at least fit the shape of the foot-well decently, but leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend! The search continues
