May have a bad spring. Does it do it every time, once in a mag?

Something is up with it. Maybe the feed ramp needs a little work. My Kimber was like that. Most annoying gun ever. Never carried it due to that. My G23c was and still is (gave it to a friend) dead on reliable. I shot the shit out of it, and my friend has taken it to several schools with him (federal law enforcement)

My G42 has all the up to date parts but it does not like PMC practice ammo. I will have failure to feed after failure to feed with that stuff. Anything else runs great. I'm sure Glock recommended you try different ammo, I'm here to say that for me it was 100% the ammo.

@Law323 I'm with you on the 3 mags. I think I will have her load 3 mags with one round each, until she gets the feeling of the recoil. She wants to learn on my G21 (full size .45) however I think we'll be renting a .22 pistol for the first time.

    We shall see!!

The problem is that it's a Glock. Upgrade to a CZ and live a life without malfunction.

My wife's first pistol, and her first pistol shooting experience was on a full size 1911. .45 isn't so bad!

This is what she is now comfortable with and what she carries in her car.

To clarify I'm mostly joking when I talk crap on your, or anyone else's Glock. Not my own preference but tried and tested and proven. My shit talking regarding guns is just as arbitrary here as it would be if we were discussing a baseball team.

Fear and dislike probably come from fear of the unknown. Most, once they put some holes on paper most end up liking it.

My dad took me shooting at a very young age...I've always been exposed to guns, so i know that helps.

That's definitely a big reason I wanted my wife to learn. She's always been wary of guns - almost to the point of gun banning (which surprises me since her family has a few guns) - so when we have kids she won't be against it when I expose them to guns. Had to explain I wanted to do that for two reasons - there are ALWAYS way less accidents when curiosity is taken out of the equation and I always want them to be able to handle and be able to protect themselves with confidence when the time calls for it.

Yes! Both my girls are allowed to touch my guns when we go to the range or clean them....even my 4yo. Both girls were curious at around the age of 2. Unloaded my concealed carry and let them look it over, hold it, etc. They have no curiosity now. They both have shot & both are constantly trained on gun safety.

There are actual studies that agree with exactly what you're saying there. I could look it up and post, but some authority did a study with two groups of children; Group 1 were familiar with firearms and had exposure to them. They had also been taught the basics of gun safety by their parents.
Group 2 were unfamiliar, and typically came from homes that thought guns were 100% evil.

When left in a room alone with a realistic, but harmless pistol, Group 1 overwhelmingly tended to avoid the firearm and tell an adult. Group 2 decided to play with it.

The concept of familiarizing and educating your kids about firearms to help them make good decisions probably applies to a ton of other subjects as well.

There you go! I always tell my wife gun safety is a never ending lesson you have to reteach over and over. Two main things - NEVER point then business end of the gun at anything you don't want to shoot! Also, only pull the gun when you plan to aim - only aim when you plan to shoot.
Kind of goes hand in hand, but hey...like I believe, there's no such thing as too much safety when it comes to things that could kill you (cars, knives, etc)

Bingo. Kids couldn't care less when they see guns at home. And I always tell them if they want to see or hold, just ask I will give to them (unloaded of course). They are not prohibited items at home like my truck. They touch my truck there will be hell to pay

I've seen those studies. Definitely a good eye opener for the gun ban nuts!

Kids don't know any better and it's entirely up to the parents to teach them the dangers of something. Just like the dangers of running up to a strange dog...plenty of dogs look cute as hell but don't do well with kids.
