this and do you wanna do Van stuff? (Abductions, living down by the river, take people to church, HVAC and plumbing service) or do you wanna do truck stuff? I think we all know the answer

    Same here.

Honestly, I feel like the VAST majority of people, while possibly expressing semi-violent reactions to the new ones ("OMG it looks like a Chevy had relations with a Ford"), have much more mundane reasons for not wanting one.

For example, in my case, it's simple. I drive maybe 20 miles a day, max; the MOST I've ever needed to tow was a 24" camper 2x a year; and I literally just paid my truck off Sunday. (YESSSS.) My frame of reference prior to this truck was a '13 F150 5.0L with 3.31 gears. Gas mileage at worst is the same as my '13 was; and literally everything else is better, so I'm fan-freakin-tastic with what I've got. :)

The biggest issue between 2.5 and 3 Gen to me is simply the fact that whereas issues with '14 - '21s are a known factor, they're not with the '22's, at least not yet. I'm quite sure the # of '22's experiencing actual wastegate or other issues are far lower than perceived, but again, when it's sort of an unknown factor, especially coming hot on the heels of literally YEARS of waiting for the next gen....well, I wouldn't blame anyone for saying "Naah, I'm good with what I've got." Not everyone who wants to wait to upgrade does so because we hate the 3rd Gen.

I WILL say that if I was buying a vehicle *NOW* I'd still probably get a Tundra for one reason - dealership. My local dealership is the bomb. Meanwhile I've got literally a decade or more of experiencing with multiple Ford dealerships trying to weasel their way out of warranty work.

I once did that too. I decided that I had to go on an adventure and chose to travel around Germany by train. I looked up the schedules of the trains that I needed to take on https://www.dbfahrplan.com/de/ and packed my bags. The adventure took around three months but that was because I was stopping in every city to party with the people there. I had the greatest time of my life and I really liked their beer and sausages. They were very delicious.
