Overlay Qatar on a map of North America. You need to get out more. A lot more to be seen and experienced here. LOL

Maybe you haven’t covered the document of “tirade” in class then. I ask a few questions and make observations on what you have said. Someone replying to other people’s posts in a string of 7 or 8 at a time over several threads taking every opportunity to tout your beliefs from experience of a brand ON ANOTHER CONTINENT could be considered more of “tirade”

My experience with Tundra’s, both the 2012 and 2022, have been nothing but positive but I do get annoyed when people feel that their insights are so profound that it can’t even be questioned in the space it was posted. I also never made excuses for bad maintenance, that was all you.

Maybe wait till you’re not a student anymore and have to buy a vehicle with your own hard earned money like the rest of us instead of your parents’. We have universities here in North America too and I can assure you we have no shortage of students that consider their opinions superior to those of the people actually living in the real world. Glad to see there’s at least some consistency on that matter on a more global scale.

I’m sorry but I really don’t understand what point you are claiming to have proven. That there are Chevrolet loyalists in Qatar that waste their time on forums arguing that their brand is superior on a different continent? I admit I have never been to Qatar but I have been in Dubai and couldn’t help but notice when I disembarked the plane that most of the vehicles at the airport were Toyota.

I also don’t know why you keep referring to me and the other “Toyota loyalists” on here as making bad maintenance excuses. You have been the only one doing so while defending your brand.

Maybe your opinions and comments would be better appreciated if you went to a Bugatti forum and told them how Ferrari is superior seeing as there are probably more supercars over there than trucks anyway. That way you can actually annoy people on your own continent.

You are correct sir. Ignoring him would be the way to go. I tried for the longest time but, alas, I could hold my tongue no more! The more people like this post and gets ignored, the more emboldened they become because they are lulled into the false sense that people value their input or their arguments are just so profound that no one can disagree. It’s going on all around us nowadays because people don’t speak up when they disagree for fear of causing someone to be offended or triggered or whatever we’re supposed to protect them from.

I know it’s futile. As a wise man once said: “Arguing with an idiot is like playing chess against a pigeon. You’ll win, but the pigeon will still strut around the board like he won, knocking over the pieces and shitting on everything”

Car manufacturers are a lot like politicians…..often times you are choosing the lesser of two evils. I have chosen Toyota almost exclusively for the last 30 years because I am confident that they will take care of me when the time comes, which has proven true for my personal situations. I don’t believe other manufacturers would have, although I admit that is speculation. Until Toyota gives me a reason not to, I will consider them the favorite for most of my automobile purchases. I guess that is being a loyalist but so be it:

    Ok bye, leave then.

You come to a forum FOR TUNDRAS and expected that your rhetoric (don’t know if you’ve done that word yet) will be embraced by people on here?

YOU are the one that started flinging feces at owners of a truck you have ZERO experience with! I think every single person deserves the right to make decisions for themselves and not have to justify the reasons why. You are entitled to your opinion. I’m entitled to mine. As long as you realize that if you say something stupid from a position of very limited or no point of reference because your father shares that opinion as well, you might get some push back.

You’re like a vegan on a steak forum. We don’t care if you Like Toyota or not but you clearly have an issue with us liking something you’ve never driven. Just take the L and walk away man.

We used to (key phrase) buy Silverados for our work fleet. We used Ford F150s prior to that. I had a 2015 1500. It was maintained per the manufacturer schedule. The transmission went kaput at 90k miles and needed replaced. It never towed heavy a day in its life. I then had a 2018 1500. It went theough four fuel pumps, two brake boosters, ball joints and a transmission before 100k miles. This vehicle was also maintained per manufacturer’s schedule.

We had one Silverado that ended up having an engine replaced at 30k miles.

Our repair costs on our fleet were significantly higher when the Silverados started hitting 2-4 years of service. We are now back to Ford F150s.

What the heck are you talking about? Used them harder? How? It’s a pickup.

IMO transmission issues under 100k is completely unacceptable and should not “make sense”.

I don’t know the empirical number that do not have issues. All I know is our fleet repair costs went up around 40-50%.

You are beyond arrogant. What you can, and should say is “I don’t know everything and I am continually speculating about why someone experienced what they did”.

Now you are just completely exposing your stupidity. My current Toyota was the first I had ever owned. I drove Dodges for 25 years prior to that. I’ve driven Chevy and Fords for fleet vehicles for 25 years.

It doesn’t take much research to show Toyotas consistently tank very high in vehicle reliability, hence the reasons I bought a used Tundra. My repair costs o we four years of ownership have been lower than what they were driving Dodges. And before you make some stupid comment about maintenance, every vehicle I’ve owned has been maintained at or more frequently than manufacturer specs.

I am far from a Toyota loyalist, as you ignorantly choose to label everyone.
Don’t join the cult. I don’t care because I’m not part of it either. I am a member of the cult of critical thinking and not talking out my butt about things I don’t have all the facts on.

then why exactly are you here? Get on a ford or Chevy or gmc forum and slobber all over them. You come a tundra forum and spew BS. Same me a car manufacturer that hasn’t had issues. Then name me a car manufacturer who has addressed them better than Toyota……I will wait. It ain’t coming.

Yes people will point to the fuel line and engine issues……and to a degree I would agree. However, it is t that the fixes aren’t coming - rather it is that they aren’t coming fast enough. Fair. But give me a manufacturer who has showed a loyalty to their customers more than Toyota. I won’t way - because there isn’t one. Period and end of story. You get your rocks off trying to wordsmith everyone into submission. I call it verbal diarrhea. Spew and splatter anything and hope someone agrees with you……

    A) I am not sure if Toyota even does fleet sales. I asked our fleet manager if we could looks at Toyota and he indicated it wasn’t an option
    B) I have no idea. Probably because they don’t care about that portion of the vehicle market.

    Red herring.

My experience with two Suburbans was enough for me. I maintained them perfectly, stayed on pavement, never towed with them, and they still gave me more issues than any other vehicle I have owned. I’ll never touch another GM product as long as I live unless it’s a Duramax HD truck. Don’t care at all what Qatar guy says.

Not sure how repeatedly praising GM has ANYthing to do with 3rd gen Tundras, the engine recall, or Toyota in general.

Where did he say it needed to? Your emotional maturity is on full display here. He states his experience, you personalized it by refusing to accept it. You twisted my personal experience to make it about our maintenance and using them too hard. You discounted the value of statistics in making decisions. All of these point to emotional responses and emotionally driven arguments.
