Funny, you might want to look at your link - upload_2024-7-3_15-14-50.png

To your credit, the text below this image on your link does state 1150. Seems Toyota needs to update a web page. It's not minor at 2000 either. It's pure imagination/speculation they are hired for building replacement Tundra engines.

I had two Raptors prior to the Tundra. BOTH spent way more time in the shop than any other vehicle I've ever owned. Transfer cases, rear ends, cam phasers, four wheel drive actuators, front suspension parts, ECUs. It was never ending. None of this was under a recall. All of it was done under warranty. I applaud Toyota for the recall. I think these or similar issues are more common than many realize.

Sit tight and let things work their way through the process. If you happen to be one of the unfortunate ones that has an issue, get a loaner, let Toyota fix it and move on with your life. It's just a truck.

I had 24 total recalls performed on my 2015 Ram EcoD. Recalls are just a fact of life these days regardless of what you buy.

The key is how does the OEM take care of you for recalls and failures

If you start flipping trucks and losing money on depreciation you will be playing that game fur a while

Based on the fuel tank recall, folks should be concerned.

I think you would be surprised how many vehicles produced in past 10 years have a do not park in a garage recall on them. Many many millions. They are quite common.

One of my local news station won an award for their reporting on Kia/Hyundai fires while driving. So they seem to cover every auto fire now in a metro ar a of 6m. Lots of different makes smoking and burning while driving. Cheap Bimmer models of late but pretty much every make has had a spotlight.

If you want zero fire risk don't own a car. Gas or EV since EVs go up as well.

When an EV catches it’s terrifying. I have on good authority that Texas is seriously considering banning them from Some types of parking garages. Especially underground, garages beneath hotels and residential.

I stopped clicking on videos related to the engine failure. This guy and many others are just posting all these videos to get click$$$$. I'm waiting for someone to post what the solution to the problem is.
It's like clicking on videos related to the stock market crash, real estate market crash, looming economic collapse, carmageddon etc. No solid evidence, just cashing in on people's emotions. All these people know about as much as I do, and frankly I don't care to hear their opinion.

Yea YouTube is full of that. So many videos popped up in my feed about this and I just hit don’t recommend this channel anymore. But if you post about how your truck runs fine and doesn’t have issues you are labeled a fan boy and a Toyota shill. Its gotten to the point where all the “influencers” only care about jumping on the hype train and then moving to the next big thing as soon as views decline. The comments section on all those videos are even worse than the videos themselves most the time.

I'm looking at investments that port the legacy aged out stuff to currency. Good opportunity for a practical AI use case that can be monetized.

Double clutching isn't required in passenger vehicles because of the synchros, but it is still a useful skill. Also, commercial trucks require a double clutch or you have to float the gears. It's not common, but is not obsolete.

My point (other than a f&f reference) was that with double clutching, it will go right into gear, you don’t have to wait on, or in his case, overpower the syncros.

I taught myself how to drive so I learned to double clutch because why not, I’m learning anyways…I find it a lot of fun!

I wouldn’t say obsolete…it’s a lot more fun…and a lot more precise than stabbing the throttle and hoping you are close…when I let the clutch out on a double clutch, everything is exactly where it should be. I like that

My comment wasn't directed at you. I quoted the guy saying it is obsolete.

Ah gotcha, my bad. I gotta stick up for manual transmissions when I can. I wanted to learn my whole life and finally bought a standard and taught myself to drive. All the car reviews said how bad the transmission was. Then I learn how to drive and learn to wait for the syncros to let it in gear and realize…non of the car reviews know how to drive properly…really sad it’s going away.

Exactly what car care nut was talking about. Not all techs created equal nor capable of taking on a job like this. Using a crow bar to pry on aluminum? God almighty, let’s introduce some more metal fillings and maybe generate some oil leaks while your at it. Check out the post on the other thread about how much damage the techs did to the fascia on the sequoia. Just like care car nut said, too many are neither trained nor paid enough to do this right. Looks very chaotic and disorganized. My friend got a new V-10 in his F-250 back when Ford offered that piece of junk. New crate engine installed at dealership. He made it about 8 miles down the road before it seized and was smoking hot. It eventually caught fire and burned his truck to the ground. He went back through the part list of what he paid for and noted one particular item missing. Oil. Not a single quart.

what years? My 23 raptor was eons better than my 24 tundra. And this 24 gmc at4x takes the cake over all. Forums are obviously biased for the very fact that the poster is always trying to rationalize their prior decisions, but that 3rd gen tundra is/was the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned.

The AT4 was my 1st choice for a new truck before I found my pro. I had new 4 play wheels all picked out and ready to go. When I drove them back to back I decided on the tundra. It was a tough choice though. Enjoy it. They are nice trucks.

I had a 2013 SVT and a 2017 1st year second gen. Issues were never ending. I loved both trucks nonetheless. I'm not belittling the significance of bad main bearing, but issues exist with all manufacturers. When I get sick of this truck, I'll sell it and move onto something else.

So, in the last year you owned a 2023 Raptor, a 2024 Tundra and now the 2024 Sierra?

Best of luck with the GMC.
