You can try and trade it in. You'll end up taking a huge loss if the dealership will even take it at all. The best thing to do for now is just drive it and enjoy.

A few members here have posted pictures of debris in the drain pan after an oil change. Some have see black particles.

Are these blocks cast in sand? What's used to clean them?

Don’t forget the massive amount of subsidies EVs currently take advantage of.

“Nearly $22 billion in federal and state subsidies and regulatory credits suppressed the retail price of EVs in 2021 by an average of almost $50,000.”

Source: study from non-partisan 501(c)3 research institute.

“It is important to emphasize that the total subsidy per EV calculated by this study, $54,778, is actually a conservative estimate given the assumptions

this is the most important issue. If the tax payer’s werent footing the bill with debt spending, nobody would have an EV

Being as it’s an anonymous source from the internet I take it with a 5lb bag of salt, but the failed 2024 could have failed for a different reason. Alternatively the failure rate for build dates after the production changes are so low that they’re difficult to draw any meaningful data from, which in this case is probably a good thing.

Right, all engines have some failures, even Toyotas. With the issues with early builds, any future failures will be passed all over by the social media vultures.

I have 17k kms on the 23 Sr5LB now and no engine issues . I do have the dead pedal once in a while but no dash lights or weird engine noise . Tows often !

Can’t say I’m havin as much luck with the Hemi’s. . Video won’t upload but lost #3 on Thursday . Cams in the other two but this one was bottom end failure . 100k miles , service records blah blah . Won’t mention manifolds or front end parts .
I’m into the 3yr lease thing now . I honestly think they are all way too complicated to fix after warranty , they are running on wiring smaller than a hair , trying to choke a twin turbo with emissions is stupid ) they want to breath ). Anyway ,, the list goes on but give me 3 good years and your goin back to the Toyota ranch for a fresh one . Am I crazy or is this the future of the auto industry for contractors ?

You can't upload them directly. You have to post videos elsewhere, like youtube, and then paste the link in a post to have it pop here.

I'm sitting on my front porch with one of my "pet" Gray Squirrels eating about 5 feet from me. Played the video and the squirrel heard that banging and hi-tailed it for the safety of the Hickorys.

It may be as soon as 3 years for scheduled brown outs in Colorado (already do this in CA) if things don't change. For the first time in 22 years we have been shutting down power plants during the day and starting them up for the evening peak throughout the night.

Congrats on the new additional ride!

My wife would kill me. I need Toyota to disappoint me next month before I can go out and buy a replacement. I can't decide between a Powerboost or a Minimax ....if Toyota doesn't preemptively fix every truck they've built with a credible story to remove all doubt.

Since I've seen metal and black debris in my oil and filter, I'm convinced the Hybrid should be addressed as well.

Two guys at work sold their 3rd gen's and picked up an SR5 and Limited Tacoma. They are pretty nice. Power delivery is very refined from the 3rd gen's.

Midsize is the new half ton. Half ton segment has no idea what it wants to be.
I feel pretty confident saying I’m in the last half ton I’ll ever buy. HD is most likely next, but a midsize commuter would be nice, too.

Nice truck. Toyota is all about protecting that Tacoma market share.

    Congrats, very nice ride.
Don't get me wrong, I love my new Tundra, but I'm envious of the rear STEP bumper, and rotary HVAC controls as God intended.
Only styling gripe I have is the monster front spoiler. Otherwise, very sharp truck.

Well it helps that the new Tacoma actually has useable power under 4K RPM’s.
