Why don't you put your general location in your profile?

@shifty` Do you think it’s just coincidence you were picked to have your tag duplicated? Maybe he/she knows you or picked you out of a crowd for some reason. There were plenty of those trucks in your color on the road at that time I would assume.

 

Unless you're going around the internet saying you don't like bourbon or BBQ, what are the odds you'll be cancelled?

 

Are you sure you actually sold the truck? Maybe you black out and live a whole separate life in FLA that you are completely unaware of.
I've seen quite a few movies where that happens.

 

I'm not 100% sure. I assume they did one of two things: Either hit up Google Image search LIKE THIS and managed to yoink a picture of my truck that I posted in one of the forums, or maybe they hit fleaBay and did a an Advanced Search on 'closed auctions' for similar to find their victim(s). I can't say for sure when they did it, but forums and fleaBay make more sense, because you'd want to aim for a registration that was recently active, potentially still valid.

It's ballpark $20 to get a re-pop tag made for just about any state online. I may've been targeted due to being in GA, because GA stopped used the embossed/stamped raised-letter plates, it's just a flat card now. Which looks nearly identical to what you get with a re-pop tag. Truth is, I'll probably never know. I think the company that was railroading people with SunPass stuff lost their contract since then, and finding the driver is damn near impossible.

 

Yeah, nah. Florida can eat my ass with a featherduster. I spent enough time in that state during my lifetime to know I'll never go back for anything except visiting the scant few friends I have left there, or couple of family members. That place is a glorified sh*thole. No offense to anyone that lives there, assuming you're brave enough to list your location in your profile. Would hate if you didn't, and complained, outing to everyone where you live

 

For the truly paranoid, why not identify as "North East", "Mid-Atlantic", "South East", etc.

I recall PHM always hid his actually location (for reasons know only to him)

Add a Location drop down list with a Flag as a choice, similar to “Civil or Military Service” drop down list….pick the State or Country and fly your flag proudly

 

Not a bad idea as long as they don't offer Missouri as an option.

To be clear, putting your address in your profile would be outrageously irresponsible. Hell, I don't even put my town, but I'm in a pretty small town.

I'm pretty conservative about sharing personal info online, for instance I'm rarely on social media. But I feel like including your state or region on a forum is a pretty safe bet.

 

Ah, some people couldn’t care less about their state flag. There are a few lame ones out there, so I can’t see that happening except for a few states where they do take pride in it.
