    to add to roman...

GST started back in 1969 and SET started back in 1968. Toyota usa was founded in 1957 in California. the biggest issue is that GST/SET they are private distributors of Toyota vehicles in the United States and don't have to follow Toyota usa coporate rules.

GST has TSS package (which conflicts with Toyota usa TSS (Toyota safety system) and SET has XSP package. all these packages are just upscaled SR5 pacakges (usually with new rims, tires and extra interior/exterior bling)

as roman has alluded to, these are exclusive to those regional ports. also since they are exclusive to those regions, Toyota usa does not warranty them or can order those items outside of regions. also financing is exclusive to those regional financing arms including extended warranties.

warranties bought from those regions are not honored in the other 9 regions that are owned by Toyota usa and they exclusive to those regions (ie: GST and SET will not honor each other extended warranties in those respective regions, if I remember correctly)

Here's the Wikipedia history of GST:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_States_Toyota_Distributors

Started in Houston in '69 to import Toyotas from Japan, then grew to one of the top Forbes-list companies over time.

Given its Texas roots, it's no wonder I couldn't find a non-TSS SR5 Tundra anywhere when I was shopping for my Tundra in the DFW area. So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Mine came with the chrome Ultra Grinders 20" wheels. I don't mind chrome, but I didn't like the Grinders or 20" diameter wheels, so I eventually sold them and got something else in 18" .

Great Tundras everyone, Hello everyone. I recently totaled my old faithful crv so I went to the dealer to get a work truck and left with this beauty and a second vehicle as well.

Badges, bumpers, grille, and step bar all used to be chrome on my TSS. I will probably end up blacking out the wheels as well...

I’m in Oklahoma and the local dealer is part of gulf states Toyota. Here are a few picks of mine from on the lot to current. First thing I did was take off the fender flares and change out the wheels. I actually really like the look of the TSS wheels just too many tight crevasses to clean. Ordered new steps that tighter to the frame and next will be wrapping the chrome bumper ends, then probably the only thing left from a looks perspective that I will do is level the front.

Here is my '17 XSP that I picked up about a month ago. I saw one only once and when I found this one, I had to pull the trigger and buy it.

TSS actually stands for Toyota Safety Sense. It’s got some extra safety features. Originally the TSS sensor that’s on all of the trims from 2018 and up was at one time exclusive to the TSS package.

Thanks Moon. I saw one early last year and when I found that one, I could not let it get away. Glad I did. Beats the ‘04 I had for 16 years.

Not a Cajun thing. Lol. The only reason the chrome bumpers and grille surround is still there is because I’m too broke to afford a proper de-chrome.

TSS is now used to describe Safety Sense, but everything else in your statement is incorrect

There's only one thing that irritates me about the tss package.... +50 offset on the wheels! Jeeze, when will auto manufacturers realize sucked up wheels suck! Sorry ranting over wheels I haven't owned in 4 years. They were really nice looking, I just couldn't make myself buy wheel spacers.

So I stand corrected. Lol. I did some quick research and apparently it has different meanings. Toyota sport series is the popular one but according to a couple of post I found it on the sticker as Truck sport series. Also on the Toyota website it stands for Toyota safety sense. Too many damn meanings for three little letters. Lol

S&B intake, Corsa exhaust, TRD rear sway bar, Spec-D tail lights, wireless center console charger.
Gulf states TSS packages and SET XP, XSP packages are overpriced gimmicks.
Its usually just a SR5 with bolt ons, badging

It had SR5 badges on the back door, so i removed those. Plasti dipped the rear bumper, but will get the bumpershellz eventually. Came with 20” Rims & 280/55R20 BF KO2 All-Terrains. Mine says TSS Off-Road on the bed.

IMG_1642.jpg I like my 2018, it has BFG all terrain tires, nice black rims and badges, sprayed in bed liner, mods I didn't have to do, plus Toyota gave me 0% interest. I did change out the mirror caps to match color of the truck.
