Cause its v8 is always a v8 (not cutting cyl back or start/stop bs).

Good power and gear ratios for towing

    Good brakes

    Room in second row

    Rear window rolling down

    Toyota reliability

    Nice looks and stance

    Recommended from other tundra owners

    Resale value

I have a company vehicle to commute in, so mpg wasnt a concern.

Why did I buy my truck? Don't ask stupid questions.

I had just gotten myself out of a financial hole I dug for myself by buying a piece of shit Ford F150. I was about ready to go buy a truck similar to the 2011 Sierra I used to own and loved, but couldn't bring myself to lock into $500+ per month payments for 5+ years again.

So I defaulted back to Toyota trucks because I knew they'd be the only trucks in the sub-20K price range I set myself that would be reliable. Plus, I missed the Toyota truck culture that I'd gotten into with my first truck, a 94 Toyota pickup. After some searching, I stumbled on what I figured was the deal of the decade for my 2005 doublecab, fell in love with it and Toyota trucks all over again and the rest is history.

Similar story. I needed a reliable truck to tow my horse trailer and my boy(Max). Student, financial hole, etc... Got my 2005 Double cab. It's been super reliable.

Came to the Yota family from RAM because I started a family and the crewmax is great for the kiddos and dog and wife to all fit. Plus luggage, strollers, blah blah blah. Also the reliability, I wanted something that I can work on easily and maintain over the years and pass on to the boy someday.

I have always loved and driven Toyota's. My family was outgrowing my 05 Tacoma and the CM Tundra was the next logical truck to get. 20170507_154419.jpg 20180330_162503.jpg

I wanted a luxury trim crew cab

    My last tundra was great

My 1794 was $6k cheaper than a previous year leftover F150 platinum and $20k cheaper than a Raptor which goes a long way on mods

    Because Chevy's have problems.

    15036306_1340608179284641_39484393652069_b4fee742ba619b361d11b119187cb5e59d3da62c.jpg

Quick story, this Chevy diesel suffered a catastrophic engine failure 45 seconds after fueling up. The EFI literally exploded. "Catastrophic" was the term the Chevy mechanic used to describe what happened. Truck would not start. It spent a few months being rebuilt. This brand new Chevy was in the shop for extended periods in it's first year. Full tank of diesel, service bed full of tools, 4-37" tires on the rack and my Toyota towed it back to our hotel in Ensenada.

    Toyota reliability.

I was sick of constantly fixing thing little things that I felt shouldn't have broken on my Ford. I was tired of watching Tundras blow past me with their windows up and their AC blowing while I was struggling to keep my F150 up to speed and not overheating when towing toys out to the desert. I really wanted to tow my toy hauler with dirt bikes in the bed with the tailgate up.

It was the biggest truck on the lot (6 inch lift) so I test drove it. The end.

Bought my 2006 GMC Sierra new. Had a 5.3, but a 4sp auto and 3.23 rear end. Bought a boat in Sept 2014, GMC pulled it, but wasn’t real happy about it. I knew I needed a new truck to handle the boat better. I did a lot of research and bought a 2015 Tundra SR5 CM in March 2015 bc of the 4.30 rear end and reliability ratings. But, traded it in Jan 2017 for a 2017 Limited bc I regretted not getting 4wd on my 2015.

Always told myself that I wanted to be a career firefighter. Told myself that when that happened I would reward myself with a tundra. 7 years later after alot of school and persistence I was hired on and finished a 7 month long academy and boom got my truck. Shes a beauty to me. Hard work and dedication is what shes made of and prob climbed to the top of Mt. Everest about 150 times with 70lbs of gear on haha

Weakest truck ive ever owned, 2006 gmc Sierra crew z71 5.3 w 3.42 gears. Struggled with an empty 16' trailer on flat ground. My tundra is a better tow vehicle in every way.

I'm sure they are. The problem is they put "highway" gears behind engines that really dont make much torque. I think they use 3.08 ratios now.

Ive had 5.3s with 3.73 gears and while they are better, they fall well short of the tundras 5.7 and 4.30 gears for towing.
