Nah, the Gen1 Raptor guys are all about the 6.2L V8 being the only motor worth owning, the Gen 2 guys make fun of Gen3 owners because none of them off-road and all spend $10,000 on PPF, and the Gen 3 guys like myself are just looking for which Ford recall we'll be destined to deal with and make fun of the Gen 2 guys for bringing up "cam phasers" since that issue is unique to pre 2020 trucks.

It's a dog eat dog world, but the Raptor forums definitely have fewer people being "offended" compared to the G3 forum here.

Titan guys accept their problems like best gen. I'm glad all my electrics still work, but i have crank windows, and manual seats and locks. I've read lots of ways to use non-nissan specific parts to get things working.

I accept the faults of gen 2 - terrible placement of starter and alternator, cam tower leaks, weepy rear diffs, chain tensioner issues later in life, valley plate leaks…

some people insist what they have is perfect. That puts them in a corner…

i've said it before, i'll say it again. People that need new trucks have been convinced by their wives, and trucks keep getting bigger because hands keep getting softer.

i could contribute to the suggested particiapation trophy thread. The 3rd gens are quick & efficient. Time will tell how the ?8-9-10? Speed is. However, i enjoy being able to throttle mine to hold a gear, and set a radio station or a/c without looking at a screen.

@JMGmanAZ - I play fantasy baseball with some kids I’ve coached over the years and their dads… one kid is always wanting to trade and I finally sent him Ketel Marte for Tatis Jr about 6 weeks ago. That has not worked out for me at all.

I think Machado is a great player but a terrible leader / teammate and doubt they’ll make the playoffs again until they find some leadership. Maybe a young Ethan Salas?

It is ‘til it’s not. I’m sure you’d feel better if gen 2s didn’t have the issues I listed but wish in one hand :poking: in the other we know which one fills first.

Again if you trade in and out of vehicles every few years, it doesn’t matter what you drive.

I do think if TTv6s were as dependable over the long term, we would see them as the default engine option in HD trucks, as they do make more torque at substantially lower RPMs than all HD V8s including the 7.3 Godzilla.

I am skeptical but holding out hope that once the V35A recall issue is sorted out, it will be at least a 250k mile engine. But man, a lot of the Blackstone reports posted here on the forum do not exactly inspire confidence.

Some smart guys quite a few decades ago concluded there is no replacement for displacement - but modern engineers think they’re smarter or are just are doing what the bureaucrats tell them.
