Pedal commander definitely can make the pedal more responsive. Obviously it doesn’t add hp or anything. I never tried the gas saving setting.

I just ordered one from iDrive USA. Once I get it I’ll post some real world feedback.

    Lots of shenanigans.
I have the pedal commander and love it. Prob won't save you on gas though. I can't imagine not having it.

I checked out HikeIt after a member here mentioned that it was quite popular in his neck of the woods. Ordering it Friday. $199 for a lot of features the Pedal Commander doesn't have.

Yep! My 2007 is super touchy. With a Pedal Commander in Sport Plus mode it should spin the tires! :D But I'm getting below 13MPG around town. I read somewhere that the eco mode would get you about 16MPG. Not sure I believe that but if I could get a couple of MPG better it would add up. I do tend to be heavy footed but still. Eco mode might make that heavy foot even worse! LOL

I personally don't think Eco Mode saves that much mileage wise, but it does feel like you pulled 5 of your plug wires off. ;)

There really is very little you can do about city MPG! But I did gain about 1.5-2 on the highway after the DAPtune.. I think mostly due to transmission tuning? But DAPTUNE is $600 vs $200 for the throttle control

I missed that you have an 07. They changed the throttle response sometime around 16 I think. I read it was to help save gas. My 10 was a lot more responsive. So the sport setting might not do much for you but the eco one might save you 1 mpg at the expense of a less responsive throttle. Maybe buy it off Amazon and return it if you aren’t happy with it.

Throttle mapping changed in 14. My 07 was much more responsive than my 14 which is basically blah now.

Ah OK! That makes sense now. I've heard people complain about the Tundra throttle response and it always confused me. So they started off strong in 07 then later versions remapped to throttle down and improve MPG I'm guessing. That's a good idea on ordering from Amazon. I think I'll go that route and just see how it does. Thanks!!

I believe the primary change to throttle mapping in 14 wasn't so much about fuel economy but the fact the previous throttle mapping was simply due to complaints about it being too sensitive for most folks. I thought it was great!

Yeah, I dig it! At first it would catch me off guard. When other people drive my truck they have problems. My nephew and I were launching a boat with his Ford F150. He launched the boat and I hopped in the truck to pull it up. Throttle response was weak af. Had to almost floor it to get the juice going enough to pull trailer out of the water. If I floored my tundra like that I would spin for days.

I'm happy with my Pedal Commander on my 2020. I know some people have had various issues with them on the forums but so far mine has held up with no problems. As far as MPG savings I was vocally skeptical at first. I've noticed it has helped actually save some MPGs for city driving only. Unfortunately I can't tolerate anything lower than ECO +4 to test it out further, anything lower felt dangerously slow.

Good to know. I'm still leaning toward the Pedal Commander. I like the bluetooth feature and the way the controls are laid out.

iDrive ordered! Don't need blue tooth and certainly not worth the extra $100+ for the Pedal Commander to have blue tooth since the iDrive/HikeIt has more options and I have no reason to hide it....>>
    • Easy Installation (Plug & Play, most models can be installed in under 3 minutes without modification)
    • Four driving modes
    • 20 adjustable settings
    • Intuitive LED interface
    • Available in a range of colors and possibly more @Swfltoyomafia
    • OEM Factory Plugs that plug directly into your existing pedal unit
    • Individual Programming for any driving conditions
    • Incredibly user-friendly and easily navigatable
    • Backed by a lifetime warranty
    • Every unit comes with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, if for whatever reason you don't think the iDRIVE is for you, simply return it for a full refund.

As far as bluetooth, I rarely use it. It does allow you to hide the unit and change it remotely however. I think some of the other throttle controllers have better features like valet mode or a disable mode.

I wouldn’t get it just for the MPG boost. They advertise up to 20% but expect no more than 10%.. Maybe it is possible on ECO -4 but that mode setting felt far worse than stock throttle. Part of it will be your driving habits and mods as well.
