Who's got dogs? Post your pup!

This is teddy. He was a full Yorkie thing. (I can never remember his breed.)
Mom's little pup. His full legal name was Teddy, the Wildman. He was a stud, and fathered many litters.

Before we got him his lower jaw had been broken due to fragile jawbones because of his breed. This led to infections, and other health issues since he could no longer close his mouth. We took him to the vet to see what they could do. They recommended pinning his lower jaw, or removing it completely. We elected to pin it, and there simply was not enough bone left to put a pin in.

The removal surgery was $7,000, and at the time we could not afford that. We started a gofundme for him. We advertised on Facebook, through email, Craigslist, you name it, we advertised on it. We only raised $65 and some change.

We decided to give him the best life we could in his final year of life. Brushed his teeth twice a day, and a weekly regimen of antibiotics. Eventually his lower jaw had become so infected that there was nothing the vet could do even though he was being seen weekly by them.

The infection spread...

He was about 8 when his internal organs started failing. We had him euthanized to end his pain.

He would run, and play just as Tex does.

He was never blind, but this is still my favorite picture I ever took of him.

 

This is Tex, my dog. He is a blue heeler mix, very playful, very smart, and super lovable.
He is 5. He is 50 lbs of love!

This is Dixie. She is also a blue heeler mix. She is 5 months old, and very, very, very energetic. She gives Tex a literal run for his money. Lol.

Very, very affectionate. Always licking, or trying to love on us. Even if it is kinda annoying when my truck is on jack stands, and I'm working. We have only had her about 2 weeks.

A friend from work thought it would be a good idea to get a puppy for her 2 year old...

Long story short she could not keep up with both, and needed to re-home fast. Along comes me. Dixie has her forever home now.

From what I gather she was traded around to at least 3 different people before I came along.

I know this is a dog thread, but I can’t resist.

This is Niko. He's a dick. He pissed on my brand new Purple.2 mattress. He has the whole house to choose from, including his litter box, and he pisses on my mattress while the sheets are in the washer.

He's a crackhead, but I love him anyway.

Fun story about Niko, my 6 year old niece came over to spend the night. I vacated my room so Pops could sleep there (he has spine issues) and I slept on the couch. Kallie slept in the same bed as mom.

Kallie, my niece whom I love to pieces but...

She thought it would be "funny" to wake me up by dragging Niko's claws down my feet...

(For those that don't know me, I have broken the 2nd, and 3rd metatarsal on both feet. My feet are very sensitive, and delicate.)

I went from dead asleep to standing upright, madder than Fu, and ready to fight in about 2 seconds...

Keep in mind Kallie is like 3 foot nothing, and here I am 6'2, 250 lbs, madder than hell, ready to fight....

And she just laughs at me.

Anyone in here have tips on training my lab mixes to ride in the bed without jumping out? I'm not really worried about my older one, but the younger one has such long legs and is much more energetic. I have taken them on short trips around the neighborhood but I don't have the confidence to take them much farther, like to a nearby state park.

He was about 13 weeks old in that picture, he's now 15 weeks old and 40 lbs


He still loses his bed to the cat from time to time

He's been pretty good so far. Monday is going to be a big step as it'll be the first day he's home alone for an extended time - just how many accidents there will be is the big question.

 

Bentley is now 12 weeks old. Miniature American Shepherd.
