my two pups. the old tan girl we've had for 8? years now and the black pup just came to us about a month ago. woke us up at about 5am trying to find a way into the chicken coop. no tags, ticks all over him, and starving. i think he's transitioning well. he's a big ol teddy bear with our baby too which is a huge plus. he's bringing out the puppy in our old girl.

So many people would just as soon run off or shoot a dog doing what the black one did. You, Sir, are awesome.

 

well truth be told, i had gotten home from work at 2 and woken up by him at 5. i went out to run him off thinking he was a neighbors dog, but he got super defensive until i got him calmed down. then i could tell he was just scared and really hungry. he got super lovey and seemed to get along with my dog immediately so it seemed meant to be.

 

The best dogs are the ones that find you. Still, love to see a dog that was in a rough spot find a loving home. They all deserve that much.

 

agreed. ive gotten lucky with both of ours.

One of the stories in constant rotation with my FinL is a trick-or-treat night when my wife was young. Her uncle's GS was along for the walk and a friendly, but intrusive dog pushed between my wife and the GS. The GS snapped it's neck immediately.

 

Need to check this thread more often, work is going to think I left my desk if I spend another 20 minutes looking at all the dogs!

Roscoe sleeps one of two ways when he's exhausted. One he looks hogtied on his pillow; all his legs are extended but bunched up in the middle. This is the other:
