At 14... Well, let’s just say he isn’t excited about much anymore. Maybe food.

That’s a good looking batch of pups! We’ve got 5 purebred chocolates right now, I wish the momma could’ve kept 8 out of the 12 she had.

I placed a pic of Doc (Golden) on here before, but sadly he passed in his sleep this weekend.

a few pics from his past, he was a genius at finding pheasant

I’m sorry to hear that man, my silver lab passed away the same way. We came home one day, found him laying in the garage and he was gone. One of the hardest things in life is burying a good dog.

Ha! At first glance, I was like “where’s his dog?”

    Great pic.

Anyone have experience with Boerboels or Central Asian Shepherds?

I’m leaning towards the Boerboels since they don’t bark as much at night unless there’s a threat.

Bilstein 5100s, Method Standard 18x9 +18 offset, 285/65R18 Toyo A/T2 Xtreme, trailer brake controller, bed liner, camper shell. All were on the truck at time of purchase.
Yellow Lab named Sage and Mini Dachshund named Tinker.image.jpg My family used to bird hunt with Sage a lot but now we just do dove and quail. Tinker hunts gophers for us in the back yard. The little weiner dog had to have part of her right hip taken out and has been bitten by a rattlesnake. She went 2 days without treatment which she somehow survived (stupid vet assistant mistake). She's about 11 years old and can still run 3+ miles on a dirt trail with me!

The CAS does bark excessive at night, but the Boerboel is a special type of Mastiff.

I’ll be honest, I want dogs that in the event someone comes on my property uninvited, they’re not coming back.

Those Boerboel's are awesome! I've never owned a Dogo Argentino, but may be worth looking at as well for your needs.

On my search for my next dog, I have been reading up on many breeds. The Doberman came across my search. I had no idea how awesome those dogs truly are and you always hear the “stories”....
If you take the time for training, what a great breed. I would sure not want to be bitten by one though, 700 lbs bite force. A Rottweiler is around 352 lbs of bite force.

Ozzy is a great dog, have had labs, golden and others. I did obedience training when he was young and socialized him. No aggression in him that I've seen. Good with kids but kinda 'herds' my 9 yr old. Stays close to you on walks, thinks he's a lap dog, has our routine down such that goes in crate by himself before we are ready to walk out door. My first Dobie, but would get another when day comes. They have a bad image for some reason but I think that is because they look imposing, were easily trained and therefore used for guard dogs and the European ones were more aggressive.
