Who's got cats? Post your puss!

I'm a dog guy. Always have been. I've had cats before and they are great when they are kittens, but they all grow up to be cats. When my last cat passed (had 3) I decided I never wanted a litter box again. That was several years ago.

A month or two ago this feral cat showed up and has decided my old shed is home, so I've started putting food out for her and her 4 kittens.



Calling her Puma. She hisses unconvincingly when I bring the food out, but she will run if distance is closed beyond 6 or so feet. She's slowly getting less openly hostile and I plan to get an outdoor shelter for her and the kittens. Building the trust is tedious, but I will have to catch them all to ket them fixed at some point.

 

I was never a cat person until I met my wife 25 years ago. We currently have four (two "technically" belong to my daughters). Perhaps it is the "I don't give a fuck, but I kind of do still" attitude that speaks to me.

Good on you to show them some kindness, and to get them fixed.

 

I like cats when somebody else has them. Mine always wind up being bastards. Lol

 

Oh - I have some that can be bastards too.

 

It could take many months but once she get's used to the routine I bet she will warm up to you. She is a good looking cat, we had a sandy colored boy growing up that looked just like that.

 

She got a bath this evening. She made known she didn’t like it at all.

 

These two turkeys are like 11 and 14+ and still love to love each other. I watched the little one come up and get in his grill and nuzzle up to him, arm wrap and a short bath.

 

This is Larry, he's a pretty cool cat.

 

Well, I lost two cats about three years ago now, so I decided that, although I do not want to commit to another one of my own I did want to help those in the shelter by fostering! Meet my foster kitten "Tiny", I renamed her Maggie, just brought her home today. She is with me for 2-3 weeks while she gets over her URI and gains weight! SUPER friendly and not shy at all!

Jack Jack just has to be close to his best friend Ally the Lab.
This is pretty much every night in the winter - if Ally sits still long enough for him to get close to her.

They are brothers out of the same litter, and they are so funny. Remy (gray) behaves more like a dog.

My youngest recently has fallen in love with the cats and realizes he needs to be gentle if he wants to be around them, Ringo is old so he doesn’t move, but Dali barely stays still for me; so I’ve taught him the “psss psss” call, and rubbing your fingers together to get their attention. My sister claims slow blinking is a great/the best way to communicate and earn their trust

Stinky Dali, slightly embarrassed and had the funniest meow asking for help, she got her head and one arm stuck in a bag handle…….. no one has been home for almost 5hrs hahahah
