Funny that no one has yet mentioned.... THAT is NOT a Porsche! Yes, it has a Porsche emblem, it was built by a Volkswagen under the Porsche name, in a Porsche factory, but, NO, it is NOT a Porsche. Anyone who has actually "DRIVEN" a true Porsche, knows. All of those who bag on the Porsche, I feel sorry for you because you have not experienced driving nirvana. A Porsche enthusiast would never park like that.

    Carry on.

If you want to get right down to it, I know a lot of folks who'll say any Porsche with coolant/antifreeze in it is questionable.
Just curious if you have any specific reasons you don't like the Panamera aside from it having 5 doors. Lord knows it'd be nearly perfect for long road trips. My 911 beats me up on roads that aren't smooth...but pays huge dividends when driven in anger.

I don't hate them either. I've considered one for a daily driver many times. Sure would be nice to keep the miles off the Tundra...and still have AC.

I'd say the cart since the cart return is right there.

from a experience of my own I pulled into a crowed parking lot every one parked like A holes and over the line. So even though I was in between 2 cars I was startling the line. When I came out all the cars were gone an I looked like a ass hole who double parked at that point.

but.... Plot Twist: what if the Porsche parked like that then grabbed the kart to keep someone away

Not going to begrudge a guy for driving a Porsche and parking it a little wonky. People that leave their carts all over the lot pisses me off to no end. Pure laziness and ignorance

In many cases people pay with plastic and it can be used to trace the purchase at many places. That is why I always use plastic.

Don’t know where y’all are from but in NY cart retrieval is a paid kids job. Good for the soul and the education of the young. Mommy and daddy can’t support you for ever. I never take a cart left in the lot even if in the return spot I always get one from inside or next to the store
Also I never return it to some designated location that would take the kids job away
I did that job as a kid. I also worked the register and never, no matter how long the line is do I ever go to self checkout
That would take someone’s job away
And those are union jobs at the grocery stores

WOW Webster, don't know where you're from but it ain't from here.
West coast, it's PART of a job that clerks do everyday; nothing special about it.
In fact, it makes that part of their job much less intense if they pull carts from a designated area, which they do most of the time.
Loyalty to a union is one thing but it can be taken to extreme.
Playing it safe is everyone's job regardless if your in a union or not.

They are using the rumba robots to pick up carts in some locations (mapping out the lots. They now have robot parking lot attendants for parking your car. It comes, picks up your car, and slides it into a spot. McDoogles is going full automation as well. $15.00 per hour cost to much to a business when a robot doesn’t come in late barely gets sick(no health care) and never asks for a raise.
1st it was the kiosks now full on automation. I’m sure you seen and are aware of the self serve line in The grocery stores and HD or Lws so that 1 person takes care of five or six registers (that use to be attended to by real men and women) while the other fifteen registers remain vacant. No employee being paid to work then. No human interface just a dish for you to pick up your change. And bag it your self (bags are .05 each as a political payback to the stores here. The govt doesn’t get 1 red cent) Soon the one human will be gone and there will be an IT company on call to fix any breakdowns.
It’s real and happening here now! Slowly every where. I am not necessarily a prow or con union guy either. Just making a point that they are union jobs with union wages.
And again I am from NY as I said in the previous post.

I'm not a fan of jobs disappearing either but what else are companies supposed to do with costs rising and customers demanding the lowest possible price?

I'm old enough to remember when you got on an elevator and told the gentleman which floor you wanted to go to. We used to pick up a phone, turn the crank, and tell the operator who we wanted to call. We used to pull into gas stations, and someone would come out and pump our gas, check our tires and oil, etc. Late model cars are largely assembled by robots doing work that used to take many people to do by hand. Make a deposit at your bank, and it'll very likely be entered at the terminal by the teller and imaged by the same teller -- a job that used to take many women working at key punch stations well into the night to get recorded. There was a time they didn't even have keypunch; it was all recorded on ledgers by hand.

Yet, despite all that automation killing all those jobs, the unemployment rate in January 2020 was the lowest since the early 50s. It's not always as simple as we want to make it.

If a checkout lane is open I'll so see the person, but if it means standing in line, I'll do the self-checkout. I take my cart to the cart corral if I leave the store with it. If I pass a loose cart I'll bring it in with me. If I see someone who has just unloaded a cart as I pass I'll offer to take it for them ( They often look at me suspiciously like I'm up to something ;) ). Fewer loose carts sitting around = fewer parking lot dings. I'll do my part.

I don't do self checkout because I hate bagging my own groceries (and fighting with the machine if I have more than one bag).

I seldom buy much, and it's just quicker to scan it and go. My wife does the grocery shopping. I've gone with her, and I agree it's a pain if you've got much. :)

I do the grocery shopping because it costs my wife at least $200 in stuff we don't need just to walk into a grocery store (or any store for that matter).

Man, I'm on the west coast (Silicon Valley) was for the most part, my professional life from the late 70s to the 90s.
30 US patents in the fields of robotics, micro electronics and some even today I can't talk about.
Nowhere around this area do we have robot cart attendants, nor car parking robots.
Repetitive, dangerous type applications were made for automation. There are far more important jobs for people to migrate to.
Even today, they use automation during eye and brain surgery for the precision it delivers.

Seriously why all the hate. I have a 68 Porsche and two Tundras 2000 and 2018. Love them all. I do however park away from others who don’t care about their cars.
