Who has the Hirev Sports LED taillights?

I have reached the point where I'm thinking seriously of replacing my taillights. I have pretty much decided on the Hirev lights, and with my black truck I know the BRB (black) lens version would look much better than the CRB (clear) lens version.

My dilemma is I don't want to buy them and feel their not bright enough because of the "black" lens, and I'm sure the "clear" lens version would look much nicer than the stock tails currently on my truck. Unfortunately the Hirev website has no real pictures showing the two versions in real world examples.

So I'm hoping to get real world feedback from people who actually own them. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

That does indeed look good. Are you saying the black version lens is actually brighter than the stock tails?

 

Probably due to the LED's are higher output that stock tails

 

I have the brb on my black and it looks sweet! Def brighter of course cause of leds

 

Also, just got them a few weeks ago..they were easy to install easy plug n play

Well this thread did it, I ordered a set of the black ones. This will probably be the last of my exterior changes.

Do these need a fuse or resistor? I had read somewhere that LED tails and/or led bulbs can blow a fuse that prohibits your truck from leaving Park.

 

Poor taste in mods my friend. I don't think anyone would like a completely blacked out truck with no dadges or decals, in channel wind deflectors, and now blacked out tail lights. At least you like it though right?

Another question, anyone with a 2020 who replaced the stock front dim turn signal bulbs with LED's then add the hirev LED tail lights. Any problem with hyper flash?

I figure if a problem I can just reinstall the stock front bulbs and should eliminate the hyper flash. My truck supposedly had the wiring problem with dim fronts fixed, but I like the LED's in front so left them in.

 

Sorry I can't answer the hyper flash question for you, mine have been great on my 2016. Front headlights are Spyder housing with HIDs. They used to have cheap LED bulbs in there, but I took those out since they looked bright, but were quite terrible.

I did just swap out my busted Spyder's for the black housing ones and so far I love them. Plenty bright, and good fitment.

I like the little light show they put in when you first turn them on (have wife turn your headlights on while you watch taillights) I had no clue… lol
