Who has been waiting the longest?

1st time poster - just put my deposit down (7/16) for a Tundra TRD Pro (Solar Octane).. was given no ETA or timeline. Was told that my TRD Pro would be the 1st the dealership receives (live in South Carolina). My quote wasn't above MSRP... was also told that my TRD Pro would most likely be a 2023 model

 

Got a rough estimate of my delivery date. My dealer here on big island, hawaii just received 2 tundras today that were ordered in October and built in March. I ordered mine in December and build date was May, so guess that sets my 1794 for delivery around September. ☹️ The positive thing is at least the recalls should be taken care of...I hope anyways.

 

I'm in N. Cal and put a deposit Nov 6th at Longo in So. Cal for a non hybrid Crewmax 6.5' Platinum in Wind Chill. I have been told i'm 1st in line but no allocation for that configuration as of yet. so no idea when it will arrive.

Ordered in September the day after the Tundra was officially announced. Finally got it on Monday, so right at ten months. Lunar Rock SR-5 crew max Sport package. Love the truck, but the wait kinda killed me.

 

Found a used 1794 in a similar configuration to what we dream of. It is several thousand dollars more than our contracted price. Also, it’s in Texas which is a long way and one international border away!

 

I traded my 16 limited Taco and 17 MB Gla250 on a 21 Highlander for my wife in April of 21. I told them I would wanted to be the first on the list for a hybrid 22 Tundra. When models were released I placed a deposit on a 1794 Army Green hybrid with Saddle Tan interior with Off Road package. Was told I was first on the list. Got a call last week that they were allocated what I wanted in WCP and said ok. I have a temp VIN and was told my build date is August 8th. I might see one by October. I passed on the option to take a limited silver long box hybrid. Been driving a 09 fusion for the past year waiting on my truck.

 

I've been waiting since the launch of the Pro. It will be close to a year by the time I get my truck, yet for some reason they are just sitting on US dealer lots. Toyota needs to worry about the customers who have been allocated a unit before sending them as open stock.

 

I live on Kauai and ordered in the ending of October. I just picked it up at the dealership on Friday. Yours should be here soon. Hang in there!

 

Put a refundable deposit down end of January for a white or WCP hybrid, short bed Limited, the only must haves for me was JBL and the Sunroof. Got a call 3 June that a Limited WCP was allocated for a build date of 1 Aug. Found out the truck was built early on 6 July and it is now at the railyard awaiting delivery to the dealership. I'm trading my 2020 TRD Off Road Tacoma for it.

The wait has been long, but I keep very busy, so the time has flown.

 

Put three refundable deposits down at three different dealers in three different states on 18NOV2021 for a TRD Pro.

Got word I was allocated two weeks ago at a dealer in Indiana (I live in Colorado). Build starts 29 July. Hopefully delivered by 12AUG2022.

 

Not sure if it helps, I just cancelled my deposit on 1794 Hybrid at a Iowa dealership. It is slated to be made on 1th Sep. Let me know if you need details.

 

I am in Ontario too, put deposit in Feb. They told us that it will be 3 months waiting only. but after 5 months now, I am still waiting , nothing, no info. Asked the sales manager , I am the 10th in their dealer's waiting list.

 

Are you dealing with Jimmy? I’m “first” in line at Longo for a non hybrid limited 6.5 crew max in white according to the sales guy I’m dealing with.

Put my deposit down in October, he’s a pain in the ass to deal with, hardly replies with updates hasn’t replied to me in about a month, understandable that they are busy but at the same time they aren’t getting in any vehicles so how are they that busy haha. Even offered to put me on the hybrid list, that I would be closer to the top on the hybrid list even though I was “next” in line for a limited

 

I get the same canned answer from him every time. "Your order is in the queue and still waiting for allocation. I will update you when your order is assigned and when it's become available".
He does always respond though. Copy and past, Lol.

Thanks for the lead but bringing a truck across the border isn’t in the cards for me just now. (But sure wish it could be)

 

I put down a deposit in October of 2021 for a Black Platinum 6.5' bed with Advance Package. (I was #2 on list for Platinum, #1 now) I was told the dealer can't order any trucks, they get what Toyota sends them (which is the stupidest thing ever). I have been offered 3 trucks, none black and none a Platinum. I have told the dealer repeatedly that if I 'm willing to pay $65-70K on a truck I will wait. They called again today and asked if I had to have 6.5' bed and advance package? Was told it could be 3-6 months longer before a 6.5' bed was made and they have no control over what colors they receive. I have been loyal to Toyota for 30 years but this is a cluster F...! Times are changing and Toyota needs to change with them, they have no vehicles on the lots to choose from and then to basically say you get what we make and like it....Well I buy Ford and GMC for my company trucks because Toyota doesn't make 3/4 or 1 ton trucks, I guess I can buy a GMC Denali for myself once I give up on Toyota.

Put an allocation deposit down for a TRD Pro Tundra back in Sept 2021 at the local MSRP Dealer. Still waiting. I think the dealer has gotten at least two TRD Pros so far. But seeing as I am like still aways down, I would not be surprised if it's not till next year. I started looking at other dealers around the country. But all I have gotten are responses such as "already spoken for" to being marked up 15k for one incoming that I could buy. No wonder it has not been spoken for. MSRP or bust!

Part of me wants to go re-live the 2000s import tuner days with the next get Civic Type R if I can't get this truck. But with the way supplies are going, I might not have much luck getting one of those either.

 

Deposit on a TRD Pro 9/15/21. Got a call from my dealer on 7/10/22. Take your pick Lunar or White both red interior. Went with White. Build date scheduled 8/25. Delivery ~ 9/25 so over a year wait.

 

From all the guys answers. Let me make it straight.
1.The dealer doesnt know how many and what kind of the vehicle will be in everymonth.
2. All the dealer has a waiting list. I have some questions.
I dont know how do they assign the vehicle. For example, I am 1st, but I want the 1794, long bed. The dealer will get the limited, short bed. So do they will ask me first????, or they give it the next guy or if someone ordered that, but the guy is No 20 in the waiting list. I am so confused already...........

 

You're correct on them not knowing what they'll be getting. As for the place in line, I know I was like #2 for a Limited iForce Max. A couple months later I added a Platinum to my preferences, which put me way down in line for a platinum. I ended up getting allocated a Limited.

 

I live in Colorado (one of the biggest Toyota markets out there). I put in deposits at dealers in Colorado, Texas and Indiana. Texas and Indiana specifically because those two aren’t big Toyota truck markets. Those people all want Rams, Fords, and GM heavy duty trucks.

Which is odd bc the damn thing is built on the south side of San Antonio. Lol

They have waiting list by order of submission request. After giving a deposit, I made them give me a receipt show the date and what I was requesting. I was initially third. One guy dropped out. Then a capstone came in and they offer it to the first guy. He took it and I got the next. If I had said no to that one, I would keep my place in line and they would offer it to the next person on the list until someone says yes.

The regional section determines what dealers get what. They base it off of overall sales, dealer requests, and demand. The regional guys determine the packages/set ups/etc. the dealers are then notified of trucks coming in and usually don’t do dealer swaps unless the truck has been sitting on the lot for awhile (which hasn’t happened since Covid).

 

Where are you at in Nor Cal? What made you put a deposit at a dealer in So Cal over one here in Nor Cal?

 

Put your name down for a Type R at a few Honda dealerships now if you want a chance of getting one.

 

I'm in Fremont. The dealers in NorCal wanted 5k over MSRP.
