A double cab bed full of water will weigh 4162.68Lbs. That's without people and beer. You better get the weight off of the suspension. :)

Water weighs about 62± lbs/ cu ft so if you fill your bed and add a few people you will be at more than double the truck's capacity. It looks like a great idea, but I think you will only be able to have it at most halfway filled (unless you add airbags etc....)

I tried it with a tarp once on a day as hot as satan’s balls. Tarp on hand wasn’t waterproof so didn’t work and had no visqueen on hand.....fail

Not to say I won’t be attempting it again....:anonymous:

Times like this, you need a clear head and self restraint, otherwise your significant other ain’t gonna like you for a couple of days LOL

Solution: liquor her up, fill the bed pool, and convince her just how awesome of an idea it was with BBP - bullshit bullet points - such as now we don’t even need to pay thousands of dollars on a pool, after we’re done we can water the plants so it’s a win win, etc.

That might be why Doc asks me what I did when I offer her wine.......maybe.....

they have their own website hahaha http://www.pickuppools.com/

next summer we will have to revisit this topic.

whomever gets one first has to do the installation video for the faq and diy page.

anyone using jackstands, make sure they can handle the weight

I bet the bedsides would cave in..the metal is too thin on these trucks. When you can make the metal move with a finger that is not good. It would probably completely destroy an aluminum ford.

I did it in college my junior year. Don’t have any photos since I deleted Facebook and that’s where all the photos from that time are. Drove around campus picking up underclassmen with water sloshing everywhere. Two of them rode in the pool all the way back to my apartment and at one point had to float on their backs because campus police were at an intersection and we had open sodas on us. Was definitely a fun night and convinced the cheerleaders who lived across the street to jump in because “how many times can you say you’ve been in a truck bed pool?”
Opening the tailgate the next morning to let all the water out was quite the thrill, too
