Sick! But aren't you a little young to be driving that thing? Seriously though, my kids love the heated and cooled rear seats and the secret tailgate release button. Also their spotify playlists show up, the list goes on and on.

 

For sure, I think my son likes it more then me!!!

 

Made it back to the concrete jungle of Dallas with this bad boy! Thank y’all for the engine breaking-in tips, the cruise control with distance control naturally did the job of alternating speeds for me, so that was muy bueno. I was concerned about the “distance to empty” being at 290 when I left dealership, but it looks like that needs to calibrate, bc I still have half a tank left with 220 miles on her. Also, they forgot 1 piece of appliqué on the pillar between the passenger doors. And some of the weather stripping around the doors needs to be adjusted bc I had some whistling coming through. Also, the trim pieces along the top of the truck bed are misaligned. Can provide pics if y’all would like, but I’m assuming these are well known issues that I’m too lazy to go back and read on. Anyways, I love this truck! Bout to go pickup the kiddo from school, and gonna let the moms know what TSS stands for for my type of driving: Target, Sam’s Club, Sprouts. LFG!

all the things you mentioned are know/common QC issues but it seems they are getting fewer and farther in between.

Here's my new truck. Limited Hybrid wanted a trd pro not enough allocated. Anybody know why it's gloss grey on the fender flares...

Because it’s not a TRD trim the TRD OR comes with black flares and the sport comes with color matched I believe. Non TRD versions get grey trim besides higher trimmed vehicles. Correct me if im wrong

How long did you have to wait for it? I was just at Cedar Park Toyota the other day to place a deposit on a Limited. Sales person said it could take 2 to 6 months to come in depending if they find one with the options I want.

 

If it’s the little patch of material that acts like wheelwell, protecting the engine compartment from spray and road junk, then yes. But it’s also on my 2012 Tacoma. Hadn’t noticed it on the Tacoma till I saw it on the new tundra, had an allergic reaction and had to go check the old Tacoma. Whatever it is, it’s held up fine for ten years so I’m breathing easy now!

 

Ya online has black color matched flares lol but it's all good

 

The only Limited to get black flares is the TRD Off-Road. Otherwise, you get the gloss gray ones.

Not the entire wheel well. Just a small portion behind the shock gap that prevents debris from entering the engine compartment. Was stunned to see it but checked my 2012 Tacoma and it was there as well and had survived ten years.

 

I get this completely. And looking into mine, it’s mostly hollow, sitting about 6” in front of the actual alloy bumper. I’m assuming they did all this to accommodate the active foil included on some trims (not mine). All that said, I do love mine, even if I don’t understand it.

To be honest man I’d look all around the area cedar park Toyota took 4 months with zero communication with me until I got my deposit back because I found a truck else where. I’d suggest talking to the guys at round rock Toyota as well. And play on autotrader daily. Unless you’re cool with waiting till next year.

 

Go on cars.com and enter what you’re looking for if you don’t mind the text messages, calls or traveling to pick one up. I got mine within 2 weeks of looking online from a dealer in Jersey and I live in Oklahoma. None of my local dealers were able to help me anytime soon. I actually had the option to pick either a silver or magnetic gray platinum 4x4

 

Well ... I'm back in the fold!! Amazingly it came 3 weeks EARLY! I was shocked when they called. There are a few 'nagging' things I will have to get used to .. most mentioned in these forums. Surprisingly when I picked it up today I noted it didn't have the bed liner or tonneau cover ... apparently Toyota have 'recalled' them so they were left out of the build! However, early impressions... I love this truck.

 

So, we are unable to lock vehicle if we leave it to run into store and its running?
