Hey yall. Trying to decide if I want to do a front locker when I do gears. I have seen lots of people say you'll break the locker or break axles if you put a front locker on an ifs truck. Looking at the eaton specifically.

I'm undecided on a lsd or locker for the rear, as well. But curious about the front.

    Thanks!

I have the ARB front locker. I have not broken the locker itself (spider gears, carrier, housing, etc.) as they are made of stronger material than OEM. I have broken the stub shaft that goes into the diff housing but that was immediately after upgrading and wheeling hard on 39 inch tires, which I'm currently at 40s. The larger the tires, the harder they are to rotate, the more likely you are to break shit. Looks like you have 35 inch tires - you'll be fine. I had 37s and lockers for a long time and didn't break anything.

This is great info. I’m on 37s and was debating whether I needed to get some insurance by ordering the RCVs or not, but I’ll hold off for now. Maybe at some point in the future.

Yeah, cheaper to have a spare than the RCVs.
