Sorry for your loss, Jim. Right after I read this post I found out a cousin's husband passed away this afternoon from the flu. He was 47 and in good health ... hit him hard six days ago. I traded notes with him a few days ago and heard yesterday he was getting better. He leaves behind a wife and 16 year old son with special needs. I would appreciate everyone keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.

The flu shot is man's way of fucking itself and dooming the future. Every time we manipulate the virus (I.E. the annual shot) we strengthen the next virus, and the next and the next. And now we are seeing that is strong enough to take our lives. The shot may very well be a way of controlling our future population. Let it rip through and take the ones who's bodies cannot defend.... Wait a year, get stronger, take more... Repeat. Anyone see a pattern here? I never heard of anyone (relatively healthy) being taken by "the flu" until recently. We are naive to think it is good for us. A virus feeds on mutations, and soon our surviving souls will be forced to drastic measures I don't even want to think about... No shot for me. Plenty of natural, powerful, and completely safe supplements, diets, and teas that provide solutions to this dark cloud.

 

Viruses in general will mutate constantly and have multiple strains and typically a vaccination will still be partially effective against a mutated strain. The other issue that makes it so deadly is it makes it easier to get a secondary infection which is why you hear of people getting better before they get worse.

Influenza is listed as one of the 10 deadliest viruses so it's for sure something to worry about. These are estimated numbers since it's not always something that is checked for at death. The 09 Swine Flu killed at least 150k worldwide, 1968 H3N2 was 1 million worldwide, 1957 Asian Flu killed 1.1 million worldwide, and the 1918 H1N1 strain killed 50 million worldwide.

While I agree that a healthy way of eating and exercise can help bolster your immune system I look at the vaccine as another line of defense. Is it still possible to get it? Sure, but you'll be better able to fight it off.

There’s nothing good about losing friends, relatives, or even acquaintances. The only good that comes from it is for the rest of us to be reminded to thank our individual version of our creator that we still have our health, and to remember how much our loved ones need a hug as frequently as possible.
