I talked to a distant family member over Thanksgiving. He tested engines for Nissan. He said to use full synthetic and change it every 10k miles. They would buy The cheap Walmart brand and it would do just as good as the others as long as you changed it every 10k. After 10k is when it stared showing wear. I told him I was changing mine every 5k and he said there was no need to do that. They would brake engines down after changing every 10k with full synthetic and they would look brand new.

I would also factor in that two turbos are using that same oil thats the life blood of that engine.

Got a regular engine? I can see going 10k with a name brand oil

I've got three (or is it four?) Blackstone reports on Mobil 1 10,000 mile oil. They were happy and suggested 12,000 mile OCI. Mmmm. No thanks.

They tell me the same on my 2000 ford ranger lol. Personally I think Blackstone should change their name to BS

True ...like the bogus idea that transmission fluid never needs changed because "it's a sealed unit".
