Hello everyone. I’ve been an auto shop teacher 18 years so I have some skills but wiring is not my strongest suit. I just bought a one owner 2010 Tundra ext 5x4 5.7. 182k mikes so just broken in? Ha!

So I’m installing a small pioneer 100w amp and 10” sub. Truck has factory CD stereo non-JBL. The amp has speaker level inputs so I’ll use those not RCA inputs. I have had this set up in my last 2 Silverados. I always splice into the drivers rear speaker wiring on the drivers door sill area. Just T into the colored wires feeding that LR speaker.

I took off the LR door armrest and saw the wires to the speaker are red and white. So I went looking for red white wires in the door sill harness. They didn’t work. Then I looked at a wiring diagram and it looks like the wires that feed the LR speaker are yellow & black then somewhere (door jamb?) switch to red & white wires?

I welcome suggestions/help on what wires would work to tap into, or using a voltmeter to determine which wires are correct? Thanks guys ~ Mark

    Welcome from NY.

Do you have any pictures of the speakers? Maybe they are aftermarket. Hopefully someone with a 2010 will chime in.

Maybe James, @james@tech12volts can help you.

All stock radio/speakers. The wires to the speakers are red&white. Question is, do they change from the main harness running along the drivers lower door jamb from yellow&black to red&white at the door? Thank you ~ Mark
