thinking about the ko2’s I’ve heard nothing but good thing about em but the Km3s just look so badass. Any one have experience with both tires? How to they compare
In the snow. I live in the foothills of Sierras. Pretty dry in the summer but we get plenty rain/mud/snow/ice in the winter. Was thinking about not lifting sticking w stock susp. and popping on some 265 75 16’s but wouldn’t mind being able to fit some 285/75 16... so much to think about TIA for your thoughts

Those ko2s get you pretty far in the snow? I know the kms are mud tires but I’ve heard mixed reviews how were they vs the ko2s? I can get 4 ko2s for 815
Or pay 948 for four km3s and get a $100 prepaid visa rebate with them:)
It’ll cover at least a tank and a half of fuel lol

I bet it's more than that, they are barely past half tread. I'm putting 17" Icon's on it when they wear out. Probably before then, I'm impatient.

The KO2s have the Mountain / Snowflake symbol. My understanding in California is that this, along with a 4wd vehicle, allows you to travel in many chains required areas without installing the chains, but you need to have the chains with you. I’ve run various versions of the BFG All Terrains for many years with no issues. They last a long time, which is a good thing considering the price.

I just bought Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's last week.

They have the mountain rating, but I don't see where they have the snowflake rating.

Do the KO2's have the mountain rating and the snowflake rating?

I traded in KO2's with 60K miles for the Wildpeaks.

Now I'm wondering if I screwed up.

I have had both the Falken's and the KO2's on my FJ and on my 4Runner. I had problems with the balance on the KO2's after about 30K miles. The Widpeaks were on my 4Runner and I only got to put about 25K miles before I sold it to get my Tundra TRD Sport.

You won’t win any cool looking tires bros points, but the Michelin Defender LTX does very well in sand and snow.

    285/75/r16

Quiet, smooth, and great tread life, too.

From one first gen driving Luis to another, you'll get an absurd amount of opinions on tires. Either one should be okay, but the KO2 is probably better suited for your needs.

Go with 265/75. It will save you gas and fitment won't require cutting stuff up or wheel spacers or anything wild. Post pics when you get the tires.

I feel like I have to be wrong but, you picture looks like you don’t have a lift?! And you fit 285s? Did you have to trim anything

Lots of great info in this thread. Asking for opinions on tires is a touchy subject. You're going to have 30 responses with at least 15 different recommendations.

I’ve been on this size tire for about 16 years.

13 years on the Michelins. M/S first, then M/S2, then Defender all of which are the ‘improved’ version of the original M/S (best tire ever as they smelled and looked new for 3 years and had tons of tread left with 60k miles on them).

Anyways, I just had the front end rebuilt 6 months ago with Billy 5100 shocks set at one notch up from stock. I did not measure before/after, but think it lifted the front a half inch maybe? Everything else is stock the way I like it.

I’ve always had a slight inside rub on the frame (under feet) when turning at full turns so I make sure to stay from hard lock. No trimming. Everything body is stock.

These other ‘Cool Bro Tires’ with the big side knobs might rub harder in the same size due to their construction (apples to apples size). These Michelins are real nice all around and barely rub at full turn.

Nevermind, I answered my own question.

The Mountain Peak emblem on the side of my Wildpeak tires also has the snowflake emblem.

The emblem on the Discount Tire website just shows the mountain peak.

Lots of all terrain tires have snowflake. My Yokos have it too, and on my Honda they're really good in snow.

You can run in any snow area with just 4wd. Don’t need snow tires. Supposed to have chains with you but they don’t check.

    More to Come ...

I was looking at KO2's myself and was turned onto Falken Widpeaks AT3's recently. Road noise is quiet and they have a 55k mile warranty. You being in the Sierra's they are excellent for snow too. Also a plus they are more affordable then KO2's.

Rajahh just ordered the Ko2s should be in by next Friday. Now I have to decide weather or not to put them on right away or just run my highway tires which have less than 2k miles on them (just bought the truck)
