Sorry to beat a dead horse

    Suspension Connection
    Rough Country
    Tuff Country

Am leaning towards suspension connection for a 6 in lift kit, cost about $500

Tuff country is a little over $1k

What's your thoughts on suspension connection kit for my 08?

    Ready to pull the trigger

I have not heard of Suspension Connection but I would not cheap out on a lift kit. It $hit starts to break, then it will end up costing you a lot more than what you save initially. I heard good things about BDS. A lot of guys seem to run Pro Comp. I personally prefer 3 inch coilover lift. An excellent balance between ground clearance and stable center of gravity, imo.

    Am pulling triggers.
20x10 ballistics rims with 35 tires.

I do agree that you pay for what you get. So throw it at this OP. Am going with a 6 inch lift.

The mods have started, and today was no better seeing " lifted Ryder " around me in Maryland.....

What's a good kit from whom and about how much.....( new to the truck and lift world)???

What are u looking for? Wheeling? 50/50? Pure comfort? Must it be 6"? Are you going to be able clear parking structures, garages and such?

On the wheels- go with 18". More sidewall protectuon and cheaper.

Sorry for the late response. A picture says a million words. I don't know if this is a 6 inch lift, if it's more then I will keep it at six. I like this look.

This will be a weekend truck or when it snows.

Rims already purchased, so whose kit do I buy to get there at 6 inches lift.

Definitely not supreme connection, just sayin. As stated above, Toytec, Wheelers Offroad, or Fabtech. Good luck and post some pics when done

I'd definitely go with a highly regarded source/supplier that will also provide excellent service before and after install. There are several rides here with decent 6" lift setups. I haven't heard of Suspension Connection either. Doesn't mean they suck. 6" inch requires some serious geometry changes to begin with. The install is just as important as the quality of the lift kit. Tuff Country is USA made and may be OK. I'd want a lift that is known to be beyond OK. IMHO.

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
BDS or Zone, same company, would be my choice for a 6" lift. The Zone is a 5". With 35" tires you'll be adding another ~1" either way.

    No plans as of yet.

But most likely camburg upper arms and some Kings up front and a custom deaver pack in the rear.

    Just speculation right now.

Honestly, I'd try to find a kit where you don't have to cut and weld anything on your truck in case you'd want to return to stock or go a little shorter.

    Stay away from spacers.

Will def post pics. So far only tin and tonneau so far.....

ToyTec does carry the T1 Zone 5" lift for around $1300. There may be a Tundras.com discount. ToyTec wouldn't have it on their website if it sucked.

I have a 7" BDS and no complaints of the lift. The front subframe is cut and weld. If you drive hard off road, I'd replace the steering rack bushings while your in there.

    True dat!

Last weekend we replaced the spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, and PCV.

Gas mileage went from 330 DTE, to 440 (no kidding). Some of the plugs were oil soaked.

If I go 7 inches plus wheels, I don't think I'll be able to park in the garage........unless I adjust the garage pull brackets to bring in door another 8 inches...... hhhhmmmm

500$ seems real cheap for a 6" lift. I was going to put a rough country on mine, but with more research and help from this site I decided to go with the 3/1 toytec boss lift with the uca.

Yeah the shop cut out a "C" shaped in middle of the fender liner the picture does not show justice with the shadow. I can live with it until I figure out a mod to seal the hole. IMG_0873.jpg
