    Hey all,

I am currently working on replacing the stock headlamp assembly in my 2017 Tundra TSS. I am wanting to switch to LED headlights from the stock halogen ones. I found some on CarID and after watching the video on installing them I went with it. 1 problem, the headlamp unit installed on the video, though looking identical, were not the ones that were actually being sold. The ones that came only had 3 ports for wiring, but my truck had 4 wires that needed to be connected. Obviously I am returning these and ordering the correct ones. So I have a question...
My truck has halogen drl. When buying the website asks if my truck has halogen or led drls. if I am switching to a LED headlamp assembly unit does it matter? I would like to have led drls on my truck, but I'm afraid if I order those they might not work correctly. I just don't want to order the wrong ones again and have to deal with installing and removing them becasue i was a moron. Have a great day and thanks for your help!

If you are going from a halogen headlight to an LED headlight, you will need a harness. Contact @iHacker for this to confirm what you need from him. Which lights were you looking at on CarId? Some of the aftermarket lights are junk, and CarId is more expensive than other sources.

Should i go with the 2017? Sounds like a dumb question, but from some of the threads I have read on here it looks like some have used 2018 or even 2019 headlamp assembly units on a different year model truck.

They are asking what your truck has, not what you want on the new headlights. You need to select halogen DRL's as that's what you have stock. I'd recommend the Alphrex over these, you can get some under $500, but I'd go with the nova's for $550.

I could get down with those lights. First I need to make sure that CarID is going to take these back. then I need to find those Novas in the blacked out version if they have them!
