Hey all, I'm in the process of converting the lights of my 2000 AC to LEDs. I've got pretty much all of it done except for the actual instrument cluster. I was planning on converting all of the cluster lights, including all of the warning and indicator lights to LED, but I've seen a little bit of discussion that some of the lights should not/can not be changed to LED. The one's that I've seen talked about are:

    Check Engine
    Low Fuel
    Battery
    Air Bag

Allegedly, these lights will either not work correctly or cause some sort of issue when changed to LED. Is it correct that these four indicators should not be changed to LED? Are there any other warning/indicator lights that should not be changed to LED?

    Update:
Thanks for the input guys! On my truck, the airbag indicator is always on when I put an LED there. So I've currently got everything changed over to LED except the fuel, battery, and airbag lights. I am having an issue with the gear indicator lights. For some reason, the D light will not function correctly. I know the light works. The light turns on when I only have the two, right wiring harnesses plugged in. The problem is that when I do that, the D light is always on regardless of what gear I'm actually in. the moment I plug in either of the two, left wiring harnesses, the D light then turns off and will not come on even when in drive. When I only change some of the gear lights to LED, but not all of them, none of the lights work. I have not been able to find a post of anyone else having this specific problem. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

As for the 4 questionable ones you mentioned, I replaced Check Eng and Air Bag with LED with no issues on my 04. I did not change the Low Fuel due to the circuit design. The current varies due to thermistor contained in fuel tank, which is why one sees Fuel lamp fading in and out when Low. With low fuel, the thermistor is above fuel level and heats up, its resistance drops which allows more current to the Low Fuel bulb. Also, if your year is like the 04, it's Fuel bulb is slightly bigger than a 74 and it's holder is grey compared to all others that are black.
As for Battery, I left it as incandescent due to comments here mentioning the need to stay incandescent for proper battery circuit
