Oooooooh. I can't wait to see pictures of it.

I'm curious on how tuff the brush guard is or how tuff you think it will be. Pics of the welds for it when it does come in would be killer.

Light bar and cubes came in on Wednesday. Going to buy some material to build up a mount. @Tundra2 did you have to remove your recovery points in the front to mount your grille guard? Those seem like the only place to mount something solid in the front of the truck. I could get longer bolts, however. Not sure how strong it would be so I’m a tad nervous.

Both hooks had to come off when I mounted my bull bar. The bracket wouldn't allow for the hook one to stay. I could re-use the closed loop one if I had longer bolts.

Like @KNABORES said, both recovery hooks had to go. If I had longer bolts I could have put the hooks on top of the mounts for my grille guard

Okay. Well, I think I may be able to use my recovery hooks. I am using an angle iron to mount the bar to the frame and it’s only 1/8” thick. It’ll definitely be custom. Haha!

Well everyone, I changed my mind. I’m gonna save for a real bumper instead of making my own mount since I’ll end up with a bumper down the road. I will probably end up buying a light bar for the roof instead. I know that there are people who hate the on the roof of their truck (right on top of the windshield) because it has a glare right off the hood. My truck is dark grey, and I have a feeling it won’t be as bad of a glare on the hood since it’s darker colored. I’ll think about it longer though.

The glare will still be pretty bad just because of the clear coat. If you plan on running a roof light bar, get a matte black vinyl put on the hood, my buddy did that and killed ALOT of the glare, and his truck was black do you don’t notice it too much

Do they mount right up to our trucks? I’m assuming a same year Tacoma?

this is the route I’d rather take. Less holes in the roof plus a bu more for deer protection. However it’s the most expensive route. I’d want to find a used one first.

I’m guessing you used a welder for that then?? What would be the part number for the bumper/what year truck should I look for it to fit my first Gen?

yeah i am pretty handy with a welder as my mod list states if it fits it ships
The bumper is off a second gen tacoma in my understanding any arb second gen tacoma 2005-2012 or 2012-2015 (facelift) bumper will work
