For some reason the 285/65/18 is going to be more expensive than the 275/70/18. They are a little wider, but also a little shorter. If you don't plan on leveling/lifting your truck, I would probably go with the 285/65/18. I know all trucks are different, but I just put 275/70/18 on mine with 18x8.5 with a +25mm offset and had to remove the rear front mud flaps. My truck has a 2" leveling kit as well, but from just looking at mine, I think I would have had more rubbing without the leveling kit and that size. I think the pics above with the 285's on the stock setup with wheels look awesome!

Thanks for your experience with the 275-70-18. You are right, without leveling, that size will definitely rub too much. I'll look into the 285s.

Man, would love to get the larger tires. But right now, can't really afford the lift and/or leveling. Gotta roll with the new (to me) wheels and tires on stock suspension set up for now. Thanks!

What type of lift are you running? I want this size too but the guys at the off-road shop practically laughed me out of the building.

I’m going to run 5100’s on the middle setting I was thinking.

You will be fine with those 275's on with the setup you are planning with the 5100's. Granted, you may be able to run the 295's and even 285/70, but the 275's still give a good, proportioned look. If I didn't drive as much as I do, I would have gone 295's on mine, but the 275's give a good compromise for me with looks, power, and mileage in my 4.7L.

This will give you an idea. My truck has a 2" spacer (5100's on middle setting are near 2" or a little less) and 275/70/18. Both pictures are of 275/70/18, one with my stock steelies, and one with my new setup.

I've had 275 70 18 BFG AT/KO2s for about 2 years on 18x9 MB 352s +25mm with stock suspension. They only rubbed in reverse when turning until I removed the front forward mud flap.

I ended up ordering the Hankook Dynapros 285-65-18s. Got it through Walmart.com as it was about $50 off each tire and although I had to pay tax, I got hopefully 10% off through ebates.

Got my set of wheels and tires on. Stock suspension. 18x9 wheels +20mm offset. 285-65-18 Hankook Dynapros.

No rubbing at all that I noticed. So all good for now.
